Paul says that death entered into the world as a result of Adam’s sin.Romans 5 talks about death via sin. This does not contradict evolution.
Sadly, you only believe what you want to believe based on a personal interpretation of the Bible. Not the real facts about the Bible. There is a difference.Well, if believing the Bible means being closed minded, then I guess I’m closed minded.
No, you are making a statement on what you assume I believe. I believe what I believe and its just astonishing for another person to make such a conclusive judgment of my own faith for me.Yes, I am repeating back to you what you have stated that you believe.
Sorry, I do not have a church. I belong to the Church that Jesus Christ established. Not if your church is wrong, and in this case, your church is wrong.
Romans 5:12 – Wherefore as by one man sin entered into this world, and by sin death; and so death passed upon all men, in whom all have sinned. (DR)Paul says that death entered into the world as a result of Adam’s sin.
Robert : And just as easily be 6 days as wellhey Robert, I know you weren’t directing it toward me. Actually, my sadness was a direct responce to Auburn88’s attacks.
ON CREATION:
Let’s not discount God’s power here
2 Peter 3:8
But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.
Psalm 90:4 For a thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.
6 days could easily be 6000 years…
Yeah thanks for pointing out that I am not worth, I already knew that. Actually no I depend on the Grace and Mercy of God through His only Son Jesus Christ for my salvation, but it’s up to me to do my part, and thats where my Faith & works comes into playThat’s right. And it is God who has stated that my salvation is assured. Really? Uh and here I thought that enternal destination would be procaimed at your judgement
Actually, I have been judged by the Lord and I was not worthy at all. Neither are you. The difference is that you’re depending on your works to make you worthy, while I am depending on the shed blood of Christ to make Christ worthy in my place.
Yea, verily. I think maybe that is something that should be pointed out, those of us (and, perhaps I cannot speak for all who are evolution believing Catholics), but, some of us who believe evolution is how things transpired, must give creedence to the idea that maybe it was really six days as stated. Not against that, per se, just, particularly, don’t ascribe to it.Robert : And just as easily be 6 days as well![]()
absolutely!Robert : And just as easily be 6 days as well![]()
Or 6 milliseconds, for that matter.Robert : And just as easily be 6 days as well![]()
There you go , the opposite direction - I love it. With GOD All things are possible. But I still believe that GOD has the ability to do all things - including the Flood and parting the Red Sea and making Ballams Donkey speak. There isnt a scientific reason for any of these things. Some need that Proof. Some dont. Having Faith is Having Faith IMO. And I am in no position to tell someone they are wrong. Nor to provide scientific proof to change the doubter into the believer. Because Scripture says what it says and St Paul says what he says in 1 Cor Chapters 1 and 2 for effect - not to judge the Word of GOD by earthly standards. But to approach it as GOD , an Infinite Intelligence , has authored it - not only by Scholastic means - but Spiritual as well.Or 6 milliseconds, for that matter.
(the “blink of an eye” smiley pun intended)
Exactly. God could have done a number of things both thought of and not yet thought of. But I too subscribe to the evolution theory. Prolly because I don’t see any contradiction between evolution and the Biblical description. That, and I’m science-minded myself.Yea, verily. I think maybe that is something that should be pointed out, those of us (and, perhaps I cannot speak for all who are evolution believing Catholics), but, some of us who believe evolution is how things transpired, must give creedence to the idea that maybe it was really six days as stated.
