Admit to one fault you have

I’m judgemental. Better at keeping it from leaving the mouth, but still working on the interior.

This one is easy, I’m afraid. I waste too much time on the Internet! :o

I find it very, very, very difficult to meet the latter part of “forgive and forget”.
I know this is a thread about faults, but the fault of being unforgiving is one that people often misunderstand, so I will digress a bit, if I may.

You know you do not have to pretend the wrong against you never happened or that it was not an offense. The task is to let go of bad feelings toward the offender and to be willing to put the most charitable light on their failure to do right by you, to pray that they will amend and improve just as you hope to amend and improve your own faults. “Forget” does not mean you have to pretend you were never wronged or your trust was never violated. That’s asking you to lie to yourself, to leave yourself open to harm from someone who has proven themselves a danger to you, which isn’t realistic. Your inner self will rebel at that, and for good reason.

Ask yourself what you would hope for in terms of mercy if you were the offender, after all. Would it be good to be treated as if you had done nothing wrong? Would it be good if you could offend again and again with never a correction, or if you never had to express contrition? Would it be good for you to think you didn’t have to do anything to be put back into a position of trust, or only that you would be considered a fellow sinner who had blown it, who ought to retain the dignity of a child of God and perhaps have the opportunity by good behavior to earn yourself back into a position of trust? Give what you would ask for yourself, not the thing easiest for you but the thing most likely to make a saint of you. Do unto others, in other words! Do that, and measure with the generous measure you hope to have from the Judgment Seat yourself, and you will do well.

Oh, and don’t forget to ask for the grace to do all of this, and even to know what to do. Forgiveness of the blessed sort is not a natural act, but a supernatural one. You need help in order to do it. Don’t forget to ask for that help! 👍

Returning to the topic of my faults…too much time on the Internet. Adios! 😊

Admit to one Fault you might have…

One of my multitude is this…

I Can’t stand people that throw around there Authority…
They Know they have some form of power over you, and they make you know it…
this is nothing new to me,I had this Problem even in my school days…
I have always had respect for people that that treat everyone as an equal…
but people that make out there so much better… well they irritate the bagingos out of me…
Code:
 What your one Fault.... ?
or several if you like… 👍
I have an extremely hard time speaking up, and when people start yelling at me to talk louder, I kind of just shut down mentally and physically. If they continue to yell at me, things get even uglier should I get physically involved. :o Some people have learned that I’m a quiet talker, others still pester me about it.

Same goes for me. I’m getting better both inside and out, but it never helps when people tell you that all you do is judge. 🤷

I am severely irritated when people habitually make grammatical mistakes, such as mixing up “their” and “there” or “its” and “it’s”.

😛

I do too, I used to teach English and Journalism enrichment classes and I’ve been told I have english teacher syndrome. I also lack tact. I just say what I have to say and because it takes A LOT to hurt my feeling or offend me I sometimes assume everyone has such a thick skin. I can also be impulsive, I’m the person who will drive up the coast or jump on a plane or bus spur of the moment.

The mistakes that irritate me are misuses of pronouns. “She hired Bob and myself.” Why would a person who would never say, “She hired myself,” ever say “She hired Bob and myself”? 🤷

Oh, well. I try to remind myself that Mark Twain wrote that no one with over-perfect grammar ought to be trusted. 😃

Well… I’m far from perfect, and yes I know I Blame my Catholic Education on my spelling etc… And um,yes I know sooner or later I must accept the fact that it’s me,that is at fault not the Good Nuns that gave me the Strap telling me it was for my own good…

Well, Ladies & Gentlemen , I wish to sincerely thank all for your truthful and enlightening
Stories about yourselves… It’s ( ok… It has ) been very interesting reading, plus a couple
P M. Messages have also been great… So please tell your friends to read and contribute to this Thread…
I may start a new Thread so you can discuss your good points…
It’s human nature to think and tell things which are negative ,so if you look for it,
You can blow your Trumpet about your good side…

Ha ha, no, I’m teasing. I placed the “:p” at the end of my post to indicate that. Yes, I do notice every little grammatical, spelling, and punctuation mistake that I read, but no, I don’t hold a grudge or get really irritated by it. 😃

God Bless. 🙂

Overindulgence.

Not just food, although that’s the biggie. Anything that I like, I over-do. I eat too much, drink too much soda, go out to eat too often, get involved in too many community projects, sit around the skating rinks for hours and talk figure skating with all my skating pals, spend too much money on all these interests, drive too fast…

I don’t just eat one marshmallow Peep. I eat 24 at one sitting.

I don’t just like figure skating, I like synchronized skating: 16 skaters on the ice at the same time!

I live too much life.

I wish I could be “littler.”

Or I wish I could overindulge in broccoli, prayer, exercise, and practicing the organ (although when I DO sit down to practice the organ, I sit there for hours because it’s fun, and then I realize that I’m starving, so I go out to eat and spend too much and eat too much.)

I don’t drink alcohol, BTW. If I ever tried it and liked it, I would be a skid-row alcoholic/drunk within six months. And I don’t gamble either for the same reason–I would be ruined within six months and be living in a cardboard box.

I’ve read that people like me have “addictive personalities.”

I’m painfully shy. I will go out of my way to avoid talking to people.

Ohh gosh, I have a long list but I’ll only name a few lol.

I do very well in my college studies, and as a result…I tend to be rather arrogant. There are certainly times when my head needs to be deflated. 😊

I swear like a sailor.

I’m a glass half empty kinda girl too…

I have always struggled with anger. This is especially true if I feel that there has been some sort of injustice perpetrated on me or others. And if angered all of a sudden I better count to 100, bite my tongue and leave the room.

Then I can think things through and respond more maturely and effectively. Otherwise, ah…not so much!

I also don’t deal well with being rushed or hurried. I can really put on the brakes if someone seems to be rushing me. My attitude is: You want to hurry. Fine. You can go on without me…toot a loo to you! See ya later. This has always been true as far back as I can remember.😊

Sanctimonious people who, at least to my appearance, preach from the proverbial “bully-pulpit.”

I should just let it go. Who appointed me the world’s “humility” police?

Mean people, or those who come across that way make me want to admonish them. Not my job, at least I don’t think it is. Who appointed me as the kindness police?
