Adopt a Priest to Pray for

I found this page while I was posting to someone else about praying for priests. If you e-mail this order, they will e-mail you the name of a priest to pray for (First name only, and they maintain strict anonymity between priests and the person who prays for them) and a little prayer to pray.

I already did the Adopt-a-Bishop thing, when a website was asking people to pray for a bishop. I selected Bishop Mark Bartchak from Altoona-Johnstown diocese because I hear him on WAOB Radio all the time and he wasn’t spoken for yet. So now I adopted a priest as well. I got “Father Peter”.

I thought I would post the link here in case anybody else wanted to adopt a priest to pray for.

We did this many years ago in our parish.
am not sure if it just was for the priests in our diocese. It was very nice.
I signed up again.

I have one particular priest I pray for daily; let’s just say that I have a very, very good reason for doing so.

(And no, he didn’t abuse me. I was never sexually abused by a priest or by anyone else. Deo gratias.)

So last night I told hubby I adopted a priest
I told him that priests need prayers as well.
On hearing this he rolls over and says good what do I get out of this.
I told him it’s not what he gets out of this that matters its for the priest.
He then says, but we have no priest and priests are getting adopted you could adopt a priest put him in the presbetry and then we will have a priest

There is a place on the Adopt a Priest page that allows for you to submit the names priests. I added my children’s Godfather.

Once you submit the request, how long before they email you the name of the priest you are to pray for? @Tis_Bearself

Thank you for sharing this with us! I didn’t know that this was even possible. I just signed up and am so excited to be a part of this.
