I just went on a personal retreat to the Shrine of the Blessed Sacrament in Hanceville, Alabama. I loved every moment of it and, while there, had the chance to briefly speak with one of the novices. She spoke of her joy of being there and how much she was loving her vocation. I told her I would pray for her and she also told me she would remember me in her prayers, as well.

Anyway, that got me to thinking that I wanted to continue to pray for her all and the Sisters at the Monestary. I have heard of programs like “Adopt a Priest” and things like that. So, I thought it would be nice to “Adopt a Sister”. There are somewhere around 50 Sisters at the Monestary, give or take. Those who are interested could pick a Sister and agree to pray for her, the monestary and an increase in vocations to that order every day.

If anyone is interested, please let me know through this thread or by sending me a pm. I have a list, from their website, of the Sisters. You can let me know if there’s a specific one you’d like to pray for, or if you don’t have a specific one in mind. I’d like to have one person for each Sister before we double-up and have more than one praying for one Sister-that way we’re sure that all the Sisters are individually covered in prayer.

So, if anyone is interested, please let me know. I’m hoping that we have enough interest to cover all of the Sisters very soon.

Thanks.

Scout’s original post is from 2008, and she does not appear to have been online since this past September. If I were you, I’d send her a Private Message (click on her name to start the process). If she doesn’t reply, you may have to do this on your own.

In any case, it’s great that you want to! Welcome to CAF.

I think it’s great that there is some interest in adopting a poor clare. If you could give me a day to get the information together again, I’ll get you a list of the sisters’ names so you can pick one. There have been some added and at least one that has died since the original post.

But like I said, I’m really happy that there is some interest again. Thanks.
