Adoration after Holy Thursday Mass?

After Mass last night the priest processed the Blessed Sacrament through the aisles of the church (he carried several ciboriums - the Eucharist was not exposed), and then moved the ciboriums to a tabernacle in a different room for private prayer and locked the tabernacle. I guess I expected the Eucharist to be exposed in a Monstrance since he called it “an hour of private Adoration time”.
Is this not the custom after Holy Thursday Mass?

No monstrance was correct. This was a different type of adoration.

I believe the tabernacle door should have been wide open so that adorers could see the ciboriums.

The General Instruction specifically states that the priest “closes the door” after the Tantum Ergo (EM 39; Rubrics for the Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper).

In the Philippines, the Ordo specifically indicates that “It is forbidden to expose the Blessed Sacrament, even in a ciborium.”

The tabernacle door should be closed at all times that the body of Christ is there. The only time they should be open is if the body of Christ is not present.

Also, the words are Ciborium (One) Ciboria (More than 1)

No such words as ciboriums or ciborias
