Okay, I think the “of course it would be” is a little unkind, seeing as my question is sincere.
Respectfully, I would substitute “of course it would be," with… yes, it would be. But that’s a personal opinion where I may find myself alone, in a modernistic, reletevastic culture. Granted, if such attire were all that you had, period, that would be a different matter.
If there is nobody in there,
The Lord, our God is there. He is infinitely greater than any earthly big shot (potential Boss during interview or meeting, or royalty, or any government leader) whom you most likely couldn’t imagine presenting yourself in front of in similar fashion.

And yes, I’ve been guilty of this as well… doesnt mean that I dont know better )

No, you are not alone.

Just because many people do it or it’s acceptable in a given parish, doesn’t make it right. Many people go to church in shorts, sleeveless tops, etc. Doesn’t mean it’s right.

The Church does not say it’s wrong, unless the particular bishop or pastor has chosen to set a dress code. If there is a dress code, as we have discussed, a sign is generally posted so people will be aware, because the dress code is not the same everywhere in the world.

It’s okay for you to have an opinion on how people should dress, but we need to make clear that your objection to shorts and sleeveless tops at church is your opinion, not a church teaching and in many areas, not even customary or a concern of the priests at most churches.

Just because you have an opinion, it doesn’t make the other people all wrong (or relativistic, secular, modernist, or whatever other word you might want to label them with).

I really think it depends. If you’ve signed up for a slot or you otherwise have time in advance, by all means put on something nice. If you’re out on the town and feel a spontaneous call or need to stop in for some time with the Blessed Sacrament, I really don’t care what you’re wearing.

Honestly, I don’t care what you or anyone else is wearing either way. That’s not why I’m there.

I see no issue. There’s a difference between dropping in the Church for a moment during the week and going to Sunday Mass, and most people understand that. If you aren’t causing a disturbance, do as you feel is appropriate.

Does the church really have to spell out ALL matters of common sense, tact, and decorum? So its ok to go to Mass in my pajamas? If the Church had to list all things not to do, it would run from here to the moon.

We’ve had this discussion on about 10000 “appropriate dress for Mass” threads already. I don’t see a point in having it again, so I will step off the thread.
Pajamas are irrelevant in any event, the OP was not talking about wearing pajamas.

A. Adoration isn’t Mass.
B. In the off-chance someone showed up to Adoration in pajamas - something I’ve never seen in my 20+ years as a Catholic - I’d hopefully be too deep in prayer to notice. Or I’d consider praying for them.

I find the “no ice cream and bubblegum” funny. Yes, “gum-snappers” are annoying so I agree.
I do figure you could use one of those “string backbag” things to put sweatpants in. (I don’t even know the proper name but might post a pic) Maybe loosely tie the sweatpants around your waist like a sweater. A waist pack would work too.
Dominus vobiscum
Ah ha! “String drawstring backpack/gym bag”. Search on that.

They are relevant, as they pertain to your logic. I wasnt responding to the OP, but to your suggestion that there are no standards with regard to dress code, simply because the Church doesn’t say anything about it. In any case, I’ve had enough as well.

You would be most welcome at my parish, in whatever attire you choose to wear.

Typically, Adoration is sparsely attended. Jesus loves you stopping in for a visit.

Christ our True God is risen from the dead,
Deacon Christopher
