The contact person for the Perpetual Adoration Chapel around here told me that some people, who’ve signed up for the early a.m. hours, sometimes come in pajamas and slippers.

If you’re a scheduled adorer, maybe “business casual” is best description. Chinos and sports shirt.

But it’s true, people show up at odd hours wearing all sorts of attire.

When I arrived one day very early, a police officer was just leaving - wearing combat gear. I asked if everything was ok; he said everything was fine. Just on his way to work.

One day, I was alone very early and the pastor showed up, then the doctor in charge of the local hospital emergency room, and then a police officer in full uniform. For a while, I thought they were going to be there for me if I had a heart attack! But, no, they were just there to pray. No drama queen stuff for me that day.

Can I move to your city where those who care for the public also care for Him?

I honestly don’t wear as nice of clothes as I do for Sunday or any Mass. -_-"
Regular clothes work, as long as they’re modest and, well, not loud. It can be harder to concentrate when someone walking around with jingles or something.

God Bless you and I hope you enjoy your time with Him!
I LOVE Adoration!
🙂

My church is very small, not air-conditioned and I usually attend early on Saturday morning so I go clean and neat and dressed for the day (if my daughter has a game after, I have gone in the “team” shirt and capris or casual slacks) plus I do prostrate myself in front of the Blessed Sacrament, so a skirt wouldn’t do for me.

IMHO, He is just happy to see you and spend some one on one time. Enjoy!

I dress modestly, solid color, loose in the torso, high in the neck, long sleeves (yes, even in the un-airconditioned church in the summer),a-line type skirt down to the floor (so when I am kneeling and bowing with forehead to the floor I don’t have to worry about what my skirt is doing) with a veil that covers my hair. Most other women and girls in my parish are dressed pretty much the same for adoration. Men wear business casual, never shorts, never sandals, never t-shirts.
