Hi! I’m feeling a bit doubtful and down right now, so I thought I’d make a thread where we can share adoration experiences. I have 2, so I’ll start-
Pax Christi!
- Not quite an adoration story, but when I was 12 I was going through an atheist phase. I was alone in church, and I stood before the alter chanting, “You aren’t real, you don’t exist” over and over again in my head. Suddenly tears came out of my eyes. I wouldn’t call it crying because I felt emotionless and there were no strong emotions that could have led to me crying. I left a bit disturbed and confused. Looking back on it, I seemed to have literally denied God right to His face!
- This happened a few weeks ago at the Steubenville Youth Conferences. We were having adoration, and though I felt detached because I was in a state of mortal sin, I still kinda felt the presence of Jesus. Every girl (and a few guys) were crying. We were praying for the Holy Spirit during worship music and suddenly people around the room started laughing! I know Holy Laughter is a bit controversial, but it was probably the purest laughter I have ever heard. They were so overjoyed, it seemed like they couldn’t stop!
