Adrenal fatigue

So my hormone tests showed everything was well, except my cortisol levels were really low. I have what is called adrenal fatigue. It can make you very sick and progressively worsen your symptoms and overall health. It was very good they found this! Praise God! I have an advanced stage of the illness, as it has likely been going on for some time. The frustrating thing is it can take many months to start feeling any better but I get the medicine to start tomorrow. Just having a diagnosis for my ongoing health drama is a relief in an of itself! 🙂

I’m so very thankful to God for this finding. Thank you so very much for your prayers for me. I believe they helped the doctor’s find this deficiency. 🙂
 
I’ve been through the lonnnnnng process of trying to find a diagnoses, so I know how difficult that is.

I’m not disputing what you have, but I just want to caution you that adrenal fatigue is a not widely recognized while adrenal insufficiency is.

You may already know this and have found help with your particular doctor, so do what you find works best. I just wanted to alert you to do more research in case you hadn’t already. 😉

I’ve never heard of adrenal fatigue.

Yes I have realized this in a short time. So many things I have such as Fibromyalgia and IBS are just now finally being recognized by medical health professionals as true illnesses. Hopefully this will catch on with time too. I’m sure many Americans have it at some point in their lives, even if not as severe. Only time will tell. 🤷

All I DO know is my cortisol levels were scary low and so this treatment (of adrenal fatigue) is how they boost those levels back up. I hadn’t yet reached the state of adrenal insufficiency or failure, so yeah I’m kind of lumped together with these other folks. 😃
 
Thank you all so much for your prayers. Once you have reached the later stages of this illness (I have) supposedly it can take 12-18 months to get back to normal. :eek: Prayers I don’t go insane would be great. 😊 Quite literally (I’ve been hospitalized for suicidal depression before.) And to have as speedy of a recovery as possible (God willing, of course.). Thanks again you all for your continued kindness and prayers! :hug1:
