My questions pertain to the validity, not the liceity, of the Sacrament of Baptism for an adult with the use of reason. I’m working from the Summa, so in your responses, I would appreciate citations to authority (e.g., canon law, the catechism, etc.).
Thank you!
- Is Baptism valid if the recipient is baptized against his will? See Summa, III. Q.68, art. 7.
- Is Baptism valid if the recipient lacks faith? For example, assume a man receives baptism (without faith) that he may contract marriage with a Christian woman. See Summa, III. Q.68, art. 8.
- Is Baptism valid if the recipient desires baptism but lacks contrition for his sins and/or intends to remain in sin? See Summa, III, Q.68, art. 4.
Thank you!
