Hi,

Really feel good to be back to church and attending mass again. And my eldest son is happy to be there too. Somehow the guilt will always be with me.

I will be strong for the sake of my children. And will not give myself up again anymore. They are my strength and thru them I learn to appreciate the value of live. And I know that god will always be there for me, it was me who turn away from him.

Most of my friends are non-catholic and have lost contact with my catholic friends. Parish and associate priests help me alot and I have never thought of seeking their help in the past. Will try to involve in some church activities and I think it will help me to strengthen my faith.

Thank you very much for all the adv and help.

You could see if your priest recommends any kind of social or support group in your church so you can begin rebuilding a network of support from people who share your faith. It sounds like despite your slip you are being incredibly mature about this whole situation. I would like to give you two suggestions:

1.) As other posters have said, seek financial child support, it’s important for both your family as a whole, and this child in particular

2.) Do not continually beat yourself up about what happened. Yes what you did was wrong, but you cannot take back the past. Guilt is good to a point, but try not to feel guilty for the rest of your life, God has forgiven you through the confessional, now you need to forgive yourself, which is infinitely harder. You are not a bad person for what happened, you are human and you made a mistake. All of us have our sins and vices, you are not the first or last person to make a mistake. What is important is that you have accepted the consequences and have learned from your mistake and have become a better person.
