Hello, all!
This coming Sunday, November 29, 2015 is the First Sunday of Advent. It ushers in the Advent Season of 2015.
What is special about Advent?
From the Ordo, we read:
“ADVENT has a twofold character, for it is a time of preparation for the Solemnities of Christmas, in which the First Coming of the Son of God to humanity is remembered, and likewise a time when, by remembrance of this, minds and hearts are led to look forward to Christ’s Second Coming at the end of time. For these two reasons, Advent is a period of devout and expectant delight. (Universal Norms on the Liturgical Year and the General Roman Calendar, 39.)” (ORDO, p.1; emphasis added.)
“Advent is a time to recall the cry of the early Christians: Maranatha! ‘Come, Lord Jesus!’ A penitential celebration is one way of assisting the people of God in preparing for the Solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord. Such a liturgy might best be celebrated during the latter part of the Advent season.” (SIZE=“1”]ORDO, p.2.)

You are all welcome to share Advent reflections from homilies or readings that could help create in us the proper disposition for celebrating the Solemnity of Our Lord’s Nativity.
Thank you … May we all have a fruitful ADVENT 2015! God bless us all!
