I have some of my Advent Candles left. What do I do with them. They were blessed so are they Sacramentals? Do I have to bury them?

Thanks in advance.

Is there enough left of them to burn them down to one uniform length and use them again next year?

Or perhaps keep them to burn during storms - using blessed candles during storms is a nice old custom.

I definately use mine the next year and supliment with new ones as needed. Also, I put out purple candles during Lent too.

My grandmother would have melted them together (in that metal candleholder mentioned above!), leaving one candle. This would be used during power outages…
Mind you, she was Methodist, not Catholic, & these were unblessed candles, but I have heard before on these forums about using blessed candles during storms, & it sounds to me like this would be a way to use the candles, instead of getting rid of them.
HTH!!

I had a nice candlelit lunch on Christmas and let all the Advent candles burn out.

Or, as another poster suggested, you could keep it for Lent.

This was my first year with an Advent wreath, and it’s a lovely custom. I’m definitely doing it again :yep:

But next time I may just get one huge candle instead of four. Less of a fire hazard 🙂
