It’s not the bitterness, resentment, or forgiving. It’s the concrete objective damages that remain. The latter can’t be undone, changed, or surpassed.

Perfect early morning read. Thanks! Amazing how God plops helpful things, things related to other studies one is doing, right in front of one. Of course what the Pope is saying is amazingly simple in concept but terribly hard in practice. A goal nevertheless.

As uplifting as the pope’s last encyclical was on bitterness…You could tell Job: “don’t be bitter”, yet through some subtlety, I find no bitterness in his cry.
