You know? I’ve never really payed attention to when my family puts up decorations. One thing I do remember is that we have the wise men travel randomly around the house until Epiphany. Also, this year since I have a laptop of my own, I’m changing the background every Sunday to “light” another candle on my Advent wreath. (On a similar note, I also change the profile color on my DSi to match the liturgical year)

We have an advent wreath and there are the posadas from the 17th to the 24th of December.

Thank you for starting this thread!

I grew up not celebrating Christmas, then celebrating it as a Protestant and now that I’m Catholic I’m much more aware of the liturgical seasons and how secular Christmas doesn’t match up with the real thing. Something about celebrating Christmas has always bothered me and now I’m thinking that it was because I was falling in line with secular Christmas!

I’m going to go and alter my nativity sets now; unfortunately, the tree is already fully decorated, but I’m going to take the star off the top. 🙂

And I love the idea of lighting the candles of the advent wreath with all the lights off while saying our evening prayers.

Thanks to everyone on this post for taking the time to share!
