My oldest daughter is applying for a U.S. missionary group (Net ministries). She has ambitions to be a youth minister so I think it will be an excellent opportunity for her. She is really gifted leading groups and is in fact the volunteer youth minister at our parish for the middle school youth program
The program requires that the applicants (if accepted) provide $5,000 to pay for the cost of supporting the net missionaries. I think that that is reasonable but I’m a little worried about fundraising that much money. We can’t offer any money ourselves and she is putting herself through school on grants.
So, how do you raise $5,000? I’m not very business minded. Is it doable, esp. for a family that mostly associates with other one income families?
