Elrandir,
I agree one hundred percent. I think the greatest danger to the victims is from spiritual attack. The next greatest danger is from some physical danger as in the perp finding out where they are in the daytime when all are at work.
I am conducting spiritual warfare now and have been for some months now and will continue to do so. There is a safe spiritual home here for them. This place is very hostile to demonic forces.
The physical safety of the children, I’ll do what I am able to keep them safe. I have arms if it comes to that. Lets hope not.
Praise God! He is our help and protection! He hears us when we cry out to Him!
Peace,
Tom

Hey Tom,

that is good to hear. also make sure, that emotions like anger and frustration are openly expressed. Maybe a very practical tip: check on their arms and legs for cuts.
I speak from experience that people who have been abused tend to hurt themselves. (I dont know how old the children are), but storing sharp objects some place where they cant reach it might help. My friend has taken all knives and scissors from me, which helped me a lot… trying to express emotions in a different way and not turn them inside.

All,
Reporting in on my sister’s situation, update.
The move in went well. My sister has a lot on her plate. The girls will be interviewed by the authorities on tuesday. They both have doctor’s appointments today, these are not related to the abuse situation, I think. My sister is on the edge of being overwhelmed with all the things to do.

Here are some things she needs help with.
  1. Schooling- the girls are not going back to their old schools. I suggested home- schooling them as the public schools where I live are very, very bad. I promised her I would look into this possibility for her as it seems that it might work really well with all the other considerations. Any advise would be greatly appreaciated. The girls are going into 12th grade and 8th grade. I don’t yet know very much about the requirements for the state for graduation but both girls are smart and highly motivated. I think they could handle the curriculum without any problems.
  2. Housing- She is working on trying to get her finances in order so she can look for a house. A lot of loose ends on this front.
  3. Divorce- The soon to be ex is making things as adversarial as possible. They were close to a settlement a couple of weeks ago, but now are as far apart as possible. This situation could take an indefinate period of time to resolve.
  4. The abuse- The girls will have an interview tommorow with dept. of social services personell and a police detective. Depending on the outcome of this interview, they may investigate the soon to be ex. My sister has had the YMCA suggested to her as a good place to seek counciling from for the girls and herself. Any suggestions here will be greatly appreciated. She has been invited to speak with a woman who has gone thru this situation. I don’t know what kind of help she needs.
so for now, the idea is to hang loose at our house, concentrate on the girls health and needs first. Worry about everything else as the priorities will probobly change. Oh, yeah, she has to try to keep up with full time job too. Luckily she can do some of it from home on a laptop. One of my other sisters has come up with her and is helping out a lot too.

Thanks for all the prayers and advice. Keep it coming. This is a sordid affair and there is hell involved. I have faith though, God can overcome even the most darkest of trials. I am an example of that myself. Bless the Lord, all you creatures of the Lord! For His Love endureth forever!
Bless Him forever!
Tom

God bless you and your family, Tom! You sound like incredible people.
There are going to be rough spots, maybe a lot of them, but with all the love you and your wife have in your hearts for these girls, I think there’s going to be tremendous joy, too. And your praise of God in your last post made me grin from ear to ear and get goosebumps.
There’s a whole lotta grace goin’ on with you; it can’t help but rub off on the kids who need it so badly.

In all the seriousness, don’t forget the fun stuff. Got good amusement parks in the area so the girls can act silly and just be kids? Sounds like they need a good dose of silliness.

Fickle,
My wife is in charge of the fun stuff. Always has been. I agree with you though. We’ll need to look around. Thanks for the suggestion.
Peace, Tom
