I just don’t know what to do. I don’t know if i can get into the swing of being a Catholic. praying the rosary, devotions etc.

I think I did better as a mormon studying the bible and other scriptures. I don’t know what to do!

May be God wants me to be Mormon…

I’m sorry to bother you all with this I just don’t know what to do 😦

Well the Bible’s still there - keep on reading and studying it! It’s every bit as good a form of prayer as the Rosary or any other private devotion.

As for the Rosary and those other private devotions, go easy on them if you don’t find them so helpful - they’re not obligatory.

Do keep up with Mass and the sacraments though.

If God wanted you to be mormon then why does God have you at this Catholic site?

You were not led here at this Catholic site on your own, but by the Will of Jesus Christ, who wants you to be Catholic.

May the Lord Jesus Christ and his Blessed Mother Guide you home.

Take it easy there. Do you go to Mass? Pray? Well then, what’s the problem?

Please, study the Bible! Have you discovered the lectio divina yet? It is an excellent way to study the Bible, and very Catholic!

I am a new convert, and all the Catholic “stuff” is new, and sometimes overwhelming to me too.

I bought a one-decade rosary, and had it blessed. I often carry it around in my pocket. One decade isn’t so overwhelming, and I like having it with me.

Also, I mentioned to a Deacon at our parish that I felt like I fade, and he said it is natural to feel that way, and to abide in Christ.

That advice, I give to you. He is our strength.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me” (Jn 15,4).

Looking back at your thread history, you became a Mormon only 4 months ago and have been wringing your hands ever since. Why all the back and forth in such a short span of time?

And I have to add, that when he said that, “Abide in Christ”, the Mormon hymn “Abide in Me, 'tis Eventide”, popped into my head. And I can tell you, I haven’t sung that song in decades.

🙂

God helps us out. If you need to sing a Mormon hymn around the house, well by all means, do so. You are who you are. Mormonism is not where you should be, but neither are you going to eject it like it never existed. So abide in Christ, and don’t beat yourself up so much.

Especially for you. :console:

Abide with me, ’tis eventide!
The day is past and gone;
The shadows of the evening fall;
The night is coming on!
Within my heart a welcome Guest,
Within my home abide.

Refrain

O Savior, stay this night with me;
Behold, ’tis eventide!
O Savior, stay this night with me;
Behold, ’tis eventide!

Abide with me, ’tis eventide!
Thy walk today with me
Has made my heart within me burn,
As I communed with Thee.
Thy earnest words have filled my soul
And kept me near Thy side.

Refrain

Abide with me, ’tis eventide!
And lone will be the night,
If I cannot commune with Thee,
Nor find in Thee my light.
The darkness of the world, I fear,
Would in my home abide.

Refrain

(words by M. Lowrie Hofford) So actually, it is a Protestant hymn.

Pray, and I will pray with you, even though you are most likely miles away. God did not make a mistake when He led you to the Catholic Church.

Yes, I was wondering that myself.

questioning345, what exactly that you are drawing to Mormon? Give some reasons or things that you learn from this faith?

From your previous thread, the only thing you mentioned about them is that they are nice and their website attracted you. That’s it!

The other things that you know they were not telling the truth about the Catholic church would not welcome you back. Try it for yourself and see if this is true. They are either ignorant or being dishonest about the Catholic Church.

Another thing, if you now have internet access to read other website, I’d suggest you spend time learning about your faith first before you let other things confuse you.

I think I did better as a mormon studying the bible and other scriptures. **

**But there ARE no Scriptures other than the Bible.

The Pearl of Great Price, Doctrine and Covenants, and Book of Mormon (in whatever recension; it’s been through several) are all Satanic counterfeits.**

You don’t have to pray the rosary. All you need to do is go to mass on Sundays and holy days of obligation. Or you can go to mass everyday if you like. Or you can pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Or you can pray the exact same way you prayed as a Mormon. And you can read the Bible just like you could as a Mormon. There are all kinds of ways to seek God as a Catholic. Enjoy your new freedom from Mormonism. And you can always ask the saints to intercede for you without using a rosary. A simple, “Mary, pray for my family and me” will do wonders! There are no rules to follow about devotions beyond attending mass. You don’t have to beat yourself because you’re not praying the rosary.

Of course if you commit a mortal sin you need to go to confession. That’s not hard either. Jesus’ yoke is easy and his burden is light.

If you want my advice, stick cleose to Catholicism. Mormonism is better off without folks like you! 😃

Contrary to what Z might say, you don’t have to deny everything about Mormonism to be a Catholic. Take it easy. Ask God to show you the way, as you sort things out. :blessyou:

Attending Mass occasionally during the week might help.

“Abide with Me, Tis Eventide” is not a Mormon hymn though it is in the Mormon hymnbook.

God doesn’t want anybody to be mormon because it’s a false religion. Remain Catholic! Saying the rosary is not necessary for salvation but it helps:) Studying the Bible is a great idea, go for it!

I recently lost my whole family in a car accident and have been trying to find peace. The mormon religion sounded good when i was sad and lonely. I guess I just don’t know where to feel comfortable.😦

I’m sorry also for lack of information for it is still very hard to talk about this. it has only been 7 months this next saturday.

And Z I think you are very rude person and I am shocked they allow such behavior on this board.
