Aesthetically Pleasing Catholic Stuff

While I was traveling cross-country I stopped at a wayside shrine in rural Missouri that was maintained by a small group of monks, one of whom was kind enough to come out to greet me. The area had been constructed around the turn of the 20th century entirely by hauling the stones up the mountain with a single wheelbarrow. It was very beautiful in the January cold:

This statue is in the chapel of the Catholic Information Center, right near my work. I absolutely love the Baby Jesus’ smile as he looks up at Saint Joseph.

I like that too, cajunjoy. That’s the first time I’ve seen what seems like it should be a more frequent depiction in art–Mary and Eve.
 
Hard to fit in n your living room, though theoretically not impossible.

I want to go there someday… Amazing people… Maybe one of the last truly “culturally Catholic” places on earth
 
The Phillipine Catholics have done alot to promote Divine Mercy. (As an example, see above.) 😊
 
Divine Mercy. We should have a statue like that in every country.
