**AFA ends boycott: McDonald’s agrees to changes

****Great news! **Because of AFA supporters like you, McDonald’s has told AFA they will remain neutral in the culture war regarding homosexual marriage. AFA is ending the boycott of McDonald’s. As you know, AFA called for the boycott in May after McDonald’s joined the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC).
McDonald’s said McDonald’s Vice President Richard Ellis has resigned his position on the board of NGLCC and that his seat on the board will not be replaced. McDonald’s also said that the company has no plans to renew their membership in NGLCC when it expires in December.
In an e-mail to McDonald’s franchised owners the company said, “It is our policy to not be involved in political and social issues. McDonald’s remains neutral on same sex marriage or any ‘homosexual agenda’ as defined by the American Family Association.”
We appreciate the decision by McDonald’s to no longer support political activity by homosexual activist organizations. You might want to thank your local McDonald’s manager.

here’s the link from the website. 🙂 Can’t say that my husband will be very happy, he’s been enjoying NOT eating there 😉 When we have to go out (cuz mom is tired or something) then we’ve been going to Subway, Wendy’s, or BK… the kids are always like “Can we go to McDonalds”… I just tell them, “not today”…
hmmm…come to think of it, I don’t really miss McDonald’s either but it’s nice to know the boycott is over.
 
Sure… just when they stopped selling their large drinks for a buck…
 
Thanks for the update; I boycotted the place about a dozen times, driving past and picking up food elsewhere.
 
What a relief. I always preferred their restrooms over the others. I thought about continuing through the boycott but then realized my car shouldn’t be seen in the parking lot. It bears a sticker advertising our local Catholic radio station.

We had to forego many times and had to tell our kids that they were closed (they are 2 and 4 years old so the boycott kind of went over their head when we told them about that…). The after Soccer lunch just didnt have the same reward level for my son.

Me and my kids will be happy – my wife…well, she would probably prefer we don’t start going there again even if they have cleaned up their act…
 
Do they still support Abortion, or was that just the owner’s [Karp’s ?] hobby?
 
Doesn’t make any difference to me as I never go there but I’m glad to see boycotts work sometimes.🤷 👍

I always liked the coffee at Mickey Dee’s anyway and I did miss it and the stadium-style salads. I am glad the boycott worked; I am sure it was fueled by lots of prayer and fasting.

I will be watching and waiting for New Year’s Day when I can plunk down some loose change for a cup of java at the Golden Arches.

I was so excited to see this email in my inbox. :o Not that I love their food, but in our city, they are the most prevalent and convenient fast food, so it was actually hard on us to boycott them! I’m sure we’re healthier for it, though.
