I have met an amazing, devout Catholic man whom I love very much. Neither one of us intend to have premarital intercourse, and I truly believe that both of us will be able to keep these intentions with God’s help. However, my question is must we eliminate all affection in our relationship to avoid entirely the occasion of sin? We have crossed the line in my mind a couple of times and sought reconciliation. Can someone provide some information about what the Church considers to be appropriate (and sinful) behavior for those in their 30s in a courting relationship? Most of what I’ve found in the library here seems to be geared toward teenagers. Also, can someone please explain what it means to be chaste in the context of marriage?
