After I die how will I know anything?

As I recall, Saint Thomas Aquinas said we know things in heaven by seeing God there. We couldn’t know everything–according to the traidtional doctrine, only God is all knowing. And I recall for example, that Saint Paul said that now even the angels knew how the human race would be saved before it happened. So those in heaven do not know everything.
But how to we see God in heaven, or know anything at all, with no bodies as yet? But we see without our eyes all the time. We see when when we dream, since dreams generally have a visual part. Some people even have dreams in color. Furthermore men can see actual things without the use of their eyes when God gives them dreams supernaturally while they sleep and visions (such as Joseph’s prophetic dreams in the Book of Genesis). So this is possible even during our existence on earth. Visions and dreams are given supernaturally to souls on earth, and I would think that in heaven men will see also through the grace of God, since those in heaven have no bodies until the general resurrection.

Dear Friends,
I once had the experience of leaving my body, i.e. my soul leaving my body. I (my soul) was completely removed from my body, and from this experience (and in reading St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas) have learned a great deal about who I am, (i.e. about my soul). Our brain is nothing more than an instrument our spirit uses to animate our body. All our knowledge is received and held in our spirit. Whenever we leave our bodies, everything we ever knew, or did, or said, every action is retained by our spirit and we leave this earth with the same beautiful soul we received, but with our record attached. If you do a search for Bless Deacon Raymond, you will find the entire book which has just been printed. Blessings

After I die I will have no eyes to see with, I will have no ears to hear with, and I will have no brain to remember anything with. How can I experience anything? How will I know anything?
I have a little trouble with the foundation of the questions.

You keep referring to this “I”. Who is this “I” that dies? Your statements seem to imply your belief that only the physical exists. I believe we are spiritual beings having a physical experience. So, I don’t understand the concept of what you are saying.

St. Paul speaks of having this body removed and being clothed upon with another body in the book of Corinthians. There are different types of bodies - depending on the “state” of the person’s experience.

I have my own weird views of life after death that you probably would not accept, but have a look anyway at my blogs.

Peace…
