I had been doing some spiritual searching, ended up at a few Orthodox Church parishes. One was a rare “Western Rite Orthodox” parish. But I had been wavering around. I finally spoke to the chaplain at CUA to ask what he thought of it. His words basically broke down to “I think you are searching for a more mystical and mysterious liturgical experience as well as a way to follow your faith in general.” He then proceeded to recommend the Eastern Catholic parishes near the school, the Anglican Use, OR the TLM. So I went to the TLM in DC and as the priest and altar servers walked during the processional, I looked at the processional cross and this wave of relief and genuine happiness came right over me. It was so comforting.
So now, I’m looking for a few books and other stuff to acquire to assist me in my spiritual journey. Thinking of constructing a little shrine/prayer corner as well, but not sure what to put in it. Any ideas?
