We’ll probable never know the answer even in heaven. In revelation Christ Jesus casts Satan into hell for 1,000 years to “shut him up” and after that “he must be released for a short time” to deceive the world right or something.

Why do you think that is? …he opens hell. Lets the devil out and back into heaven or the new earth or whatever to deceive the whole world again. like hes doing now. well its not even a he its an IT. i shouldnt use he.

God has reasons known to him alone. Why…
He allows this battle. This war to continue even after a thousand years of peace. Which is only a day to Him. 2 Peter 3:8 But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like one day.

Why do you think he releases after the thousand year reign of peace?

According to Approved Sources, there will be a Period of Peace before the arrival of the Antichrist. It’s not necessarily 1,000 years. Nor will it be magical and paradise on Earth.

The Catholic Church has never supported the idea of a literal thousand year reign. During WWII, the idea was formally rejected as something “that cannot be taught safely,” possibly because Hitler was claiming Nazi Germany to be the thousand year reign!

The thousand years (10 x 10 x 10) is a symbolic period of relative peace, just “10 days” of tribulation is symbolic. Ten is a number of earthly completeness, and squaring it or cubing it indicates emphasis and importance. Ten days of tribulation and a thousand year reign are the same thing – until the end of the world and the Second Coming – but one is not as important as the other.

Jesus will reign over us until the end of the world, and the demons will be restrained until the end of the world. The final tribulation will look like the demons are free to wreak havoc; but even then, we will be under Jesus’ rule.

PS – The historical term for someone who believes in a literal millennium is “chiliast.”

No meat, beans, or pepper are required. 🙂

You just might be correct.

AND IMO even weightier than that - is the agreed upon fact that we are indeed heading toward the end . with evidences mounting as I type. … IMO it behooves us to concentrate our energies of keeping AWAKE via Maintaining (Never Losing) our FAITH in our Lord JESUS.

For, Faith Itself has been under attack.

I may be way off, but I think Satan was tied up and cast into hell when Jesus died upon the Cross. At that point, the 1000 year Eucharistic reign of Christ began. It’s been 2000 years now. Then, in Oct 1884, Pope Leo had a vision:

*The guttural voice, the voice of Satan in his pride, boasted to Our Lord:

“I can destroy your Church.”

The gentle voice of Our Lord:"You can? Then go ahead and do so.

"Satan:"To do so, I need more time and more power.

"Our Lord:"How much time? How much power?

Satan:“75 to 100 years, and a greater power over those who will give themselves over to my service.”

Our Lord:“You have the time, you will have the power. Do with them what you will.”*

Notice that God gave Satan 100 years. Along came Pope John Paul II and in 1990 announces a New Springtime of the Church.

I think this means that Satan has been released and has failed to bring down the Church. Now, his minions are still here, but the Church is beating them back, in my opinion, God is using the US as a major weapon in this conflict.

From his place in hell, Satan is getting very desperate and his minions reflect this by their ever more offensive behaviour.

Anyway, that’s my view.

It seems that Church has established that we do not take a literal interpretation of Revelation. And yet we continue to discuss it as if we’re interpreting an actual series of events. :roll_eyes:

On the contrary, if that were true, people wouldn’t be trying to come in by the millions. The USA is the most wonderful country this world has ever seen. The only government more wonderful, is the Catholic Church.

The Church has given us guidelines for exegeting the Bible. Your understanding of those guidelines, seems simplistic. Please show where the Catholic Church has said that all of Revelations MUST BE explained in the manner you prescribe?

I am not affiliated with the given link. I do not believe in a literal reign on earth for 1,000 years by any saint. I believe it (1000) actually takes place in Heaven, that leads into the eternal reign on earth.
 
So by this vision
Satan had a hundred years, and more power over his followers on earth.
The hundred years are done. Satan’s followers are still doing all the evil they can but now we will see a renewal of Mother Church.

I’ve just recently been to a Catholic Charismatic Conference at which we had prophecies that said much the same thing. There shall be – there is in progress now–a new renewal in which God will do and is doing new and great things for His people.

Acts 2: 17-21 (ESV) ‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; even on my male servants and female servants
in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.
And I will show wonders in the heavens above
and signs on the earth below,
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;
the sun shall be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood,
before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day.
And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’

America makes other countries better. Even countries which hate America are constantly asking for American aid.

As for aid one of the only things America has lots of is money. Then again I ve seen abusive parents give out allowances too.
