“Just that the generally prevailing interpretations of modern men with regard to the 2nd coming are incorrect according to the Word of God and the verifiable writings of the Early Church.”

Question; has the Church done enough literary analysis yet in respect of current events on the interpretation of the “Book of Revelation” ?
or has this subject been avoided for to long ?
  • which could only help further educate the faithful and more importantly the “Tepid” and non-believers.
Kind regards
John:)
My Lord and my God.

No. Limbo was a speculation by some medieval theologians to answer the question of what happens to the souls of children who die before being baptized. It’s never been a teaching of the Church and has all but disappeared.
You are right about the Limbo of the Children but the Bosom of Abraham (Luke 16) is sometimes referred to in the Church as the Limbo of the Fathers. Many Church Fathers believed Purgatory and the Bosom of Abraham are/were in the upper parts of Hell.

so your saying the book of revalations is false?
I don’t know if you’re directing that question to me or somebody else, Catholics never say that the book of the Revelation to John is false. They do, however, say that it is a form of literature known as “apocalyptic” which was popular in the 1st century. Futher, Catholics say that the Book of the Revelation to John is about heavenly worship and is not at all concerned with some bizarre creation called the rapture.

Again, I relaize how nice a rapture formula fits in with “once saved always saved” theology but that too is a figment of the imagination of some.

Obviously were you to find verses in the Revelation to John which expolored the concept of a SECRET second coming and then a THIRD coming in glory, Catholics would be proven wrong. But you’re not going to find them.

Have a good day.

Nope. 😉
You probably know about this, but Book of Revelation (that’s what’s interesting; it’s not a bunch of ‘revelations’ but one ‘revelation of Jesus Christ which God gave unto Him’ :)) does NOT say anything about the good Christians being taken up to heaven before the Tribulation, leaving all the rest to suffer through it.

Hades was known as the abode of all the dead. The early Fathers believed it to be located “under” the earth, perhaps near its center. Hades consists of hell or Gehenna, Purgatory or Prison, and the Limbo of the Patriarchs (Bosom of Abraham). Philippians 2:10, Revelation 5:3
