Again we wait for the Islamic outrage...and wait...and wait.

Carpet bombing, agent orange, shooting of unarmed civilians, torture and mockery of prisoners of war in violation of international law and so on. And no, before someone brings it up, I don not think that only Americans are guilty of these terrible acts.
I think that makes the point well. Condemn the heck out of anyone guilty of those crimes…anyone would. Unless they were Islams killing Christians of course…then the Muslims would be strangely silent on the subject.

So what else explains it…righteous indignation?
Maybe because they have already condemned terrorism, they shouldn’t have to do it again and again every time some nutter tries to blow up an American target.

OK boys and girls, I’ve got to go out for a couple of hours, good debate going on, I’ll do my best to have more links when I get back and hopefully we won’t keep going in circles. Bye for now all!

And what actions are those?
Oh, for crying out loud. The incidents of rape, torture, and the slaughter of innocent Iraqis by US soldiers are hardly secrets, estesbob. The name Abu Ghraib surely rings a bell, even for you.

Here’s just one example:
%between%

And another:

And another…
cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/08/07/iraq.familyslain/index.html

I could continue ad nauseam (it certainly makes me feel ill, anyway), but if you’re so curious, how about looking into these matters yourself?

Also, I’m sure you know how many US soldiers have died in Iraq, and probably regularly check out the updates. Now look at how many Iraqis have died there so far. Hint: seven hundred thousand (seven hundred thousand!) is a rather conservative current estimate.

Too bad you had to leave. Well, here is the point for the day. The bottom line here is that even the few Muslims that might have a problem with Christians being killed are scared to death to say it out loud for fear that those who really follow Islamic teaching will kill them as traitors. This of course has happened before.

Religion of peace…I think not. No religion that calls itself peaceful stands by and watches its own kill the innocent without doing something about it.

And even if you believe those numbers, are we to assume that all of those killed were simply innocent like the Catholic priest that was butchered for saying the Mass yesterday? I think not.

Which religion are you talking about? Christianity or Islam?

And yes. I’d say it is extremely likely that the great majority of those dead Iraqis (remember, that’s a conservative, western, and somewhat dated estimate too) were innocent noncombatants. You think not? How would you even know?

You aren’t going to shame me by providing a link to a 90 year old massacre initiated by British imperialists, who I have already stated I am against. I am not British, nor was I raised to be blindly patriotic. I think the people of India deserve an apology and am not afraid to say so. However, as an Irish citizen it is not me who has to do it.
Okay, so you despise the British and the Americans equally, then?

Whew. For a minute there I was afraid you were just another Yankee-hater.

Now, what are your feelings about Islamic massacres, say, like 9/11?

Oh now I would not look for a response to that one anytime soon. You see, that would be like asking a Muslim to condemn terror attacks…

Seems someone needs their satire/irony detectors checked, along with the self-examination flow to the hypocrisy-meter, and a new ad hominem filter too while at the shop.

You seem to be having some problems here with recognizing satire, with applying your own standards to your own views, and with the use of ad hominem. This makes discussing these matters effectively rather difficult. If you could restate your opinions without these impediments, then perhaps we may have a more productive exchange.

😉

Well, let’s not be too harsh. I was 19 years old once and had a lot of trendy ideas, too.

With the link to the aztlan pictures you have shredded what little crdibiltiy you had. These photos were taken from pornographic sites, have been widely debunked and were around long before the war started. It is beneath contempt that you would post links to this trash.

Similarly the 700,000 death totoal is utter nonsense. The ultra-left Iraq the Body count puts the maximum at a little over 70,000. Most unbiased observers think this number is about 3 times higher than the actual numbers but even the authors of Iraq the Body Count admit the overwheming numbers of deaths were caused by iraqis jkilling iraiqis. www.iraqbodycount.org/

This will be my last post to you-your contemptible posting of the bogus Soldiers rape picutres shows you are not a person one can reasonably even want to debate with. Responding to the slime you have posted here makes me want to go take a shower. Truly one of the more comtemptible posts ever made to CAF.

I don’t hate/despise anyone, and I’m sorry if you came to that conclusion. I dislike the actions taken by certain governments but I don’t hate any person. Especially those I don’t know.

I hold attacks like 9/11 in equal contempt-it was an evil attack and hiding behind a religion made it even more despicable. Forgive me if I sounded as if American lives meant less than others, that was not my intention

Well I’ve answered, sorry for the delay (which the two of you took to try and insult me or diminish my intelligence on the basis of my age alone) as i said, I was out. But you got an answer at least.

Now I would never seek to diminish someone’s inteligence. That would be sad. On the other hand, if someone is just wrong or not particularly well read…well…you can count on me calling them on the carpet for that.

Cheers!

And how do you know whether or not I’m well read 😃 ? In any case, you said not to expect an answer, I’ve answered. We’ll see where the rest of this debate goes.
