I am talking to a Christian Moral Relativist and I was wondering if ya’ll could help me talk to him scripturally. This is his line of reasoning:
“Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day—things which are a mere shadow of what is to come, but the substance belongs to Christ.” Colossians 2:17–19
And 1st Corinthians Chapters 8 & 10
What should I say? Wouldn’t this make the church completly irrelivant? Why go to confession or be baptised? A lot of things wouldn’t be a sin. Please help me. Thanks and God bless.
The scriptures I have heard the person repeatedly use are these two:There is no way to establish truths. Even if there were, it is not important. All one must do to be saved is love Jesus. Domgas do not matter. One should not bother others with dogmas if they are happy to where the Holy Spirit has called them [church]. All one must do is Love Jesus. Dogmas are not essential to Salvation therefore should be discarded.
