When do Eastern Rite Catholics make their 1st Penance?

I know babies routinely receive Baptism/Holy Eucharist/Confirmation as infants. When are children expected to start making regular confessions? Age 7? Older? Younger?

I am curious as a Latin Rite mother currently preparing her 7yo for 1st Penance and 1st Holy Communion.

Thanks

Yes, 2nd grade is the normal time of first Reconciliation.

Chaldeans usually have it right before First Communion which is usually after 2nd grade (at least 7 years of age) is completed.

As an infant we receive Baptism and Confirmation, but we do not have Communion.

Communion used to actually be given to infants in the Chaldean and Maronite Churches before latinizations set in 😦

Melkite faithful recieve the Holy Mystery of Repentance when they are ready. There is no “first confession” ceremony. The '“when” is left to the parent and the priest to detemine.
