Thank you Franciscum. Lately I’ve been hearing ‘the sins of ALL the world’ in one particular Agnus Dei. I mentioned it to the music director who told me, “well I’m singing it this way. Give me your book and I’ll write the word in for you.” A very flippant answer.

I am very sorry to hear that. Because the Agnus Dei is part of the Mass, (s)he is not at liberty to make changes. I would ask him/her again, and if (s)he refused, I would write a nice letter to your pastor about the problem, with a carbon copy to this arrogant music director.
 
its “Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi”

Peccata is the plural of sin.
