Agony in the Garden

According to Scripture, the account of Jesus’s experiences are given in some detail although it states that the Apostles were asleep. How were these experiences known to the author? Did Jesus reveal what happened during that sorrowful time to the apostles after he resurrected?

I’ll take a guess. St. Mark, who wasn’t one of the apostles, recounts that when Jesus was arrested in the garden that

a young man followed him wearing nothing but a linen cloth about his body. They seized him, but he left the cloth behind and ran off naked. (Mark 14:51-52)

Would that have been Mark, himself? And if so, could he have been, awake and apart from the other disciples “spying” on Jesus during the agony? Perhaps he later told the others what they missed.

yes, he was with them for 40 days of mystagogy, reflection on the mysteries, until he ascended, and during that time he taught them the full meaning of all that had happened.
