Akiane, supposed prophet?

Has anyone seen anything on this kid Akiane. She is supposedly this prodigy that claims to have been taken to heaven around age four and makes these inexplicably advances paintings of Jesus and Mary and other things. She is 13 right now but claims her inspiration is form God. Her website is artakiane.com People are calling her a prophet and all kinds of things. Check it out and tell me what you think.

I remember reading something about her, but I didn’t hear about the prophet part. I think she’s just gifted. None of her paintings have anything to do with prophecy.

My daughter is very much into art and we discovered Akiane and her work about four years ago. Akiane is truly gifted in several areas. Since my daughter is about the same age, she was fascinated at the spirituality and obvious talents of Akiane. I bought my daughter Akiane’s book, “Akiane: Her Life, Her Art, Her Poetry” and both she and I have read it, but I don’t recall reading anything about Akiane being purported to be a prophet. The main reason I bought the book was because it contains beautiful paintings and poetry by Akiane and my daughter still very much enjoys both.

Just FYI, one can find videos of Akiane and her work on YouTube. She is certainly a spiritual child and appears to have had spiritual and mystical experiences and those experiences influence her work, but I don’t recall that she has ever been referred to, by others or herself, as a prophet.

I wonder what her religion is?
If she is Catholic, and there are public claims that she is a mystic or a prophet (whatever that means here), the local bishop should evaluate them. Personally, I woundn’t accept or reject such claims without this.
I like what I see about her art, though someone is trying to make a great deal of money from it. But perhaps she or her family isn’t doing this themselves.

Though I do not know her religion, she is not Catholic. Her parents were atheists when she started talking to them about God as a very small child. Her parents have since accepted a belief in God.

Oh, I have followed that little girls story for years, she is no longer a little girl however. She turns 15 this year. Her art is so beautiful it made me cry.

There is indeed something special about her. But she never claimed herself to be a prophet.

What made her story so amazing to me is that religion was not allowed in her home, there was no mention of God. Her mother was born and raised in Lithuania and was an atheist. Her father Marcos was once Catholic but stopped practicing, there were no discussions of religion or God in their household, and nothing that depicted Jesus.

When she was just 4 years old she began talking about God to her mother. She said she met him and he took her to heaven. It scared her mother and she wondered how in the world did she hear about God. I suppose if God wants in you can’t lock him out, He will find a way.

That same year is when her angel paintings began.

She wrote a poem when still little, called “The Day I Was Born”: **The day I was born I met myself The day I was born I met my young mother The day I was born I met Christ sleeping in my cradle. **

There was an interview with her when she was 10. She said she wanted her art and poetry to draw attention to God and on God.

She paints what she sees in her dreams and says that God wanted her to paint all the human races.

The New Agers consider her an old soul and a child prodigy. In their eyes she is an Indigo child. To others she is a mystic. She has never claimed to be anything actually.

I do know her mother now believes in God. I have not looked into their religion in a while But I believe her parents chose to be non denominational. BTW, a very large portion of the money made from her sales goes to charity.

Thank you for correcting my info and supplying more. I haven’t read the book since my daughter got it 3-4 years ago, so I obviously have forgotten some details (i.e., I thought both her parents were atheists), though my daughter reads and looks at it every few months. Anyway, I think I’ll ask to borrow the book from my daughter (I just looked in her room but couldn’t find it) to refresh my knowledge about this amazing child, Akiane.
