“As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never have seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead. The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by my Son. Each day, recite the prayers of the Rosary. With the Rosary, pray for the Pope, the bishops and the priests.”

Do you know what is this “Sign”?

Final revelation has closed. Any signs have already taken place and are revealed in Scripture.

Jesus left us His church, the one holy Catholic and apostolic church. He also said the gates of hell will not prevail against it. Attacks have always existed against His Church but as he told us, it will not be destroyed.🙂

There have been ample miraculous signs displayed by God since the end of public revelation. Evey apparition deemed worthy of belief attests to this. The Rosary, the Divine Mercy, etc., all come from miraculous signs post-public revelation. Our Lord Himself in the Gospels and St. John in the Book of Revelation speak of future events that will come to pass before the End. It is wise to listen and take heed of the words of Our Lady when see appears bearing messages from her Son.

Ive heard this mentioned before in similar threads, but I have to ask, then why are so many things happening in the world today, and at the same time, that so closely resemble these ‘warnings’? Thats a little much to be coincidence imo.

Plus, if all this has already happened long ago…when did the second coming occur, who was the antichrist? I dont recall reading about such things ever happening in the past?

Perhaps the sign of the cross?
That’s a reasonable guess. Cross is the sign of salvation.

Our Lady of Akita said: *“As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity.” *

Not only men did not repent and better themselves, men have sinned worse like never before. Ireland legalized “gay marriage”, Australia is on the way, so is America. The sin of sodomy is grave. Genesis 19: 4-8 and Judge 19:22-23 both described the horrible homosexual behaviors. Many Bible passages condemned homosexuality.
Leviticus 18:22*You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.
Leviticus 20:13*If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.
Jude 1:7*Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
Romans 1:26-28*For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.
1 Timothy 1:10*The sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine,
1 Corinthians 7:2*But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband.
1 Timothy 1:10-11*The sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine, in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted.
Mark 10:6-9*From the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”
How could any Catholic ignore God’s word and support gay “marriage”?

We must pray the Rosary and include the Pope, the bishops, the priests and the conversion of sinners in our daily Rosary intentions. Please pray.

That’s a reasonable guess. Cross is the sign of salvation.

This is all true, but God has yet to punish anyone…??? What is he waiting for? He didnt wait too long back in biblical times to punish humanity…if you look around, it really does seem like something changed when it comes to God, I mean, the world just keeps worse and worse, and we dont hear a peep out of him…??

Geez, I would have expected many cities to be utterly destroyed by now, or at least some punishment, but again…nothing? After awhile, this would make anyone start to wonder.

Do you know what [this] “Sign” [is]?
As I recall Haffert & Yasuda’s account, context implies it is the Sign of the Cross. That is the most logical, immediate implication: By what other sign are Christians identified today than by the Sign of the Cross?

I think this is particularly true for Japan. In Japan, many are very superficial regarding appearances, e.g. wanting a “Christian-style wedding”, and this means wearing the white wedding dress and similar tux suit for the man and having a Protestant chapel-looking room – with a cross. (Some “wedding chapels” also have large white pillars inside, like Baptist churches I guess, and a huge book no display (you see the open cover) – with nothing written inside it! – to resemble a Bible.) My point is that if you see a building with a cross on it, you know it’s either Christian or a “Christian-style wedding chapel”

Yes, we often suffer from the consequences of our sins.
What is he waiting for?
Because we know that God wills for all men to repent of their sins and be saved (i.e. “maximize the population of heaven”), we may reasonably conclude that God is waiting for the last person who will come into relationship with Him. In other words, it is reasonable to expect that God will wait to deliver this terrible blow until such time when conditions are so bad that reasonable conversion to the Christian message becomes impossible.

In practical terms, I think this means the end will not come until Christianity is suppressed, belittled, and persecuted to the point where the general public will not only misunderstand the god of Abraham to be no different from Greek mythology, but the general public will also misunderstand the Christian faith, or else understand it and not care.

I think we see the seeds of these phenomena in our age, but we are still in a position to correct misunderstandings and educate those who are opposed to Christ, so I think it will take a few more generations or global wars before the end will come.

Then again, perhaps climate change will become apocalyptic as some have predicted, and many will die this way, in fulfillment of Akita’s predictions. Fire raining from the sky can be understood as holes in the ozone etc. allowing more harmful cosmic radiation through, or even, I think, a lack of water – prophecies seem to be largely poetic so as to be only understood after the fact … (But if I’m not mistaken, she continues to say that even after this, the end will still be a little ways off.)

I think we are already approaching the conditions whereby such global persecution of Christianity is appearing reasonable to people: We are interfering with people’s desires to live as they wish and be regarded as they wish, regarding human sexuality, and the Church opposes population control measures, which the United Nations may encourage be globally implemented for the sake of the environment.

I suppose it’s also possible followers of Muhammad could become dominant, or else those extremists getting hands on nukes and using them (another example of fire raining down from the sky).

I read or heard an explanation from someone not that long ago that gave me what I thought was a deeper understanding of what Jesus was saying when He said “The Gates of Hell wil not prevail against His Church.”

I had never understood that the Gates in this quote are actually the gates of Hell. If a city’s gates prevailed that meant that they were able to keep their enemy out. So it’s not so much as the Church not being destroyed but that she will succeed in her mission.
Her mission is seemingly to penetrate into Hell bringing Jesus to those who are in Hell and Hell’s gates will not prevail in keeping her from doing this.

I hope this makes sense. For me it made so much sense and gives me a very hopeful understanding that no matter how dark or twisted hardened ones heart is or things get we have Jesus’ promise that His Church will succeed in her mission of bringing His redeeming love and mercy and compassion to all corners of the earth and Hell’s gates will not be able to stop the Salvific Mission of His Church of bringing our Savior to the far corners of the earth.
Knowing this fills me with peace.

“The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by my Son”

Okay so Mama Mary said that the Rosary and the Sign left by my Son will only be the “arms.” So if it is indeed the Sign of the Cross, how can the Sign of the Cross be used as an “arms” then?

By the way, just to be on the same page, by Sign of the Cross, we mean the symbol of the Cross right, and not the “sign of the cross” using the motion of the hand (up down left right)

“The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by my Son"
The “arms” mean “weapons” Rosary is a powerful weapon in spiritual warfare. We all know that.

The meaning of the cross is sacrifice. Jesus died on the Cross to offer his ultimate sacrifice for man’s salvation. Without the cross, the gate to heaven is not opened. The cross is sacrifice, reparation of sins, and the way to freedom. Jesus told us to pick up our cross and follow him. Nowadays we hardly ever hear the cross being mentioned. People want instant gratification. No one wants to carry his cross but to satisfy his carnal needs.

The cross is where sins are pardoned, wounds healed, and battles won. Satan hates the cross because the holy cross defeats Satan. Cross is a powerful weapon, an effective arm in spiritual battle.

So by Cross, we mean our sufferings like body mortifications?
By the way why Cross, and not the Crucifix?

I am wondering if it might be more like a transformation of ones self to being more Christlike. The sign would then seem to be that we will see the fruits of the Holy Spirit? I am thinking of St.Paul. After his encounter with Jesus he changed. In his words it was no longer he who lived but Jesus Christ who lived in him.

I really don’t know anything about the Akita messages but after reading others posts here and vaguely remember it being discussed or more like mentioned a few times here at CAF,
But especially after reading the posts on this thread about the Cross being one of the arms. I am lead to believe that our only defense is the Rosary or prayer for that matter but it has to be prayed in a manner and way that allows us to be open to a very real and deep personal encounter with Jesus, like St. Paul had, that leads us to a conversion or transformation of heart, mind, body, and soul. It could be that the sign of Jesus that this has happened are that when one is transformed or converted one then has the fruits of the Holy Spirit in them. One who bears the fruits of the Holy Spirit would then be armed against the forces of evil.
Please remember I am just kind of putting some thoughts out there so don’t take them literally. I am sure you could tweak them a bit to make more sense. But speaking from my own experience the more loving and self sacrificing I am with my children and others and the less condemning shaking my finger at them and shoving their sinfulness into their faces the more at peace I am and they learn so much more and are open to learning so much more. So I see first hand in my own life how I need to be very prayerful and learn to discipline myself in compassion, patience and understanding of them in order to help them learn to discipline themselves to be more patient, understanding and compassionate themselves.
I also am remembering all the stories I have heard over the years of how compassion, forgiveness, love, mercy, understanding and kinship has melted the hearts or broken down the closed gates of the hell that so many hardened hearts find themselves in. And it actually makes sense. To me anyway. But then again that’s just me and what goes on in my little head so tweak it as you can so it makes more sense to you or others.

I’ve heard that these signs will be left at all he authentic apparitions of he blessed mother and will be visible but I believe you cannot touch them.

I would guess it would be something pertaining to the Virgin Mary and jesus. Perhaps an image similar to be Tilma of Guadeloupe? The tilma is taken from the book of revelations. Also according to Mary of agreda this was the sign given to the angels before they fell that was a sign of encouragement to the good angels and contradiction to the bad angels. I think I read somewhere Else that it would be a pilar of fire like what lead the Jews out of Egypt.

What it is is an umistakeable supernatural sign indicating a true miracle.

Jesus told us to pick up our cross and follow Him.

Carrying the cross and following Jesus is to have God’s peace even in life’s trials and distress. Jesus’ Cross gives us freedom - not the freedom from suffering but the freedom in suffering. It is the freedom of inner peace and joy that nothing can take them away from us. We see such freedom in the martyrs. We also see such freedom from people who experienced unfair tragedies but choose to forgive and trust in God.

When people offer their sufferings to God, they unite their pain with the Passion of Christ and give their cross a redemptive meaning. Our world desperately needs prayers and redemption.

I think it is the Blessed Sacrament, His living presence on earth.

Diary of Saint Maria Faustina of Kowalska

No. 83: “Write this: before I come as the Just Judge, I am coming first as the King of Mercy. Before the Day of Justice arrives, there will be given to people a sign in the heavens of this sort: …”
“All light in the heavens will be extinguished, and there will be great darkness over the whole earth. Then the Sign of the Cross will be seen in the sky, and from the openings where the hands and the feet of the Savior were nailed will come forth great lights which will light up the earth, for a period of time. This will take place shortly, before the last day.”
