I have seen large age gap marriages work. And very YOUNG marriages work too (at my 40 year reunion several of the couples that married between 18 -22 were still married and doing well!). Character counts much more than age or the superficial things - but conventional wisdom is not always wrong.

There are problems when partners are of varied ages, or different faiths, or culture or color. But one of the biggest problems is dealing with self-appointed arbiters who judge the relationship and allow themselves permission to gossip, dis, and look down on others.

Life is short, and as years go by age differences matter less and less - especially in eternity. Putting it positively, marrying a partner with much in COMMON with you is a pretty good idea. Be it age, religion, values, or what have you. < Crud. I’m becoming one of those people I warned everyone about. Lol.

That Paparazzi had been harrasing him, following him and his neighbours around, but yeah it wasn’t an appropriate comment.
One paparazz-o, two (or more) paparazz-i. Capiche? 😃 He’s quite a character. I remember reading about how he’d walk in a Starbuck’s, order a macchiato but ask for a larger carton glass filled with ice, he’d take that and go where the honey, sugar, milk is and fill the glass with milk. That way he’d only pay like 2.35$ for something that was worth 4.25$ or so. Economical or cheapstake is your call.

We assume he is committed to fidelity till death; which we as catholics understand to mean to not lust in the heart as well as to not commit adultry.

We assume he is open to life; which we as catholics understand to mean no artificial contraception is to be used.

We assume he is committed to Christ; which we as catholics understand to mean in everything he does personally as well as professionally.

We assume he will fail; which we as catholics undertand we all do.

We assume he makes use of the sacrements when he does in fact fail.

We pray for him as he progresses in his efforts as we pray for all of our fallen bretheren in thier efforts.

We pray for all of our own failed efforts; of which I have many.

Please pray for me.

interesting. i am not a fan of alec baldwin or alex - whatever it is. i think he is obnoxious and arrogant. i didn’t know that he was raised Catholic so i was also surprised to hear that he wed in St. Patrick’s Cathedral. he strikes me as a Catholic in the same line as nancy pelosi and joe biden. i have heard that he is seriously considering running for political office. i hope that he has married for love and not to better his chances in politics.
some will probably find my remarks uncharitable, but i am weary of liberal hollywood celebrities.

i actually think Starbuck’s coffee is pretty good but I’m no longer a customer for 2 reasons:$ and their support for gay marriage.

There’s a whole bunch of them. His younger bro converted to Christianity after a wild life. I don’t know whether they had a religious upbringing. I try to be compassionate with celebrities: when everyone around you tells you how wonderful you are, everyone goes out of their way to please you, you get upgrades everywhere, you get paid hundreds of times the average wage of an American, being humble and not falling prey to a sense of entitlement must be awesome challenges in those circumstances. The opposite is also true: it’s hard to be either rejected, mocked, slightly ridiculed or pitied pretty much everywhere I go and not feel that there is something intrinsically wrong with me. Try to keep a reasonable ego when you’re rich and famous.

I think he figured it out and was beating Starbucks at its own game. All of it is way overpriced.

Yes, I agree. However, if you listen closely, he says something to the effect of, “That’s my neighbor. Leave my neighbor alone.” He went after the paparazzi initially because he was bothering his neighbor.

Good on him, Starbucks is the worst. Of all the major chains, they’re the only one where I go to order a cup of Chai Latte and they use the terrible and cheap artificial syrup in most of the ones I’ve been to.

These days Mcdonald’s McCafe makes a better cup for the same price. Even they’re smart enough to use instant Chai powder instead and use Cinnamon as a sprinkler.

My favourite Coffee place is Michel’s Paterrisie, which I don’t think you guys have over there… They make a killer coffee(and Chai!) in my local one, and the coffee and cake combo is very cheap.

Who is Alex Baldwin? I know of an Alec and a Steven and some other guy but I have never heard of an Alex. Perhaps he is related to Katie Homes, or Stacy Pelosi. If we are going to criticize here (and we probably can) we should at least look like we know what his name is before we start guessing the motives of his soul. It makes us lose credibility.
I worry about brad abama, dictator of the USSR’s soul.😃

I must say how shocked I was at Alex Baldwin having remarried in the Catholic Church, having been Divorced. My understanding is, that if the marriage was consummated then there can be NO annulment. My brother was not allowed to marry in the Church, because his wife had been divorced. I have many friends, who applied for permission to marry again in the Catholic Church(having been divorced) but were refused by the Bishop of my area. They can go to Mass but can’t take communion. It would appear to me there’s a law for some but not for others. I wonder what the Pope thinks? By the way, I have been a Catholic for 65 years and married for 44yrs.

I have never heard of you being able to get an annulment even though the marriage has been consummated. However, I will look into this at a local level. Thank you also of making me aware that there might be a rule regarding the above ie, annulment after consummation.
