Dear all,

In the last few days I have been discovering the beauty of God’s love in one His chosen souls, Alexandrina. Please, take a look and may God bless your hearts as He blessed mine. She has become one of my heavenly friends.

Short quote from her writings:

« If you knew how much I love you, you would die of joy. I have established my home in your soul. I live in you as if you alone exist in the world and I had only you to bless. You are a tabernacle constructed by divine hands. I want you in my arms with the same simplicity of a baby in those of its mother. Give me your heart to place in mine in order that you will have no other love but for me and for the things that are mine. In your body is Christ; Christ in your glances and in your smiles. You are the valley and I the water which flows in it, which washes and purifies. You are rich in me. It is because of this that your glances attract. It is because of this that your smile has the fineness of Heaven. I want you to preach devotion to the tabernacles. I want you to kindle in souls devotion to this Prisoner of Love. I do not stay in this world only for love of those who love me, but for everyone. Even those engaged in work can console me. »

wow, another Eucharist miracle!

Nourished only by the Eucharist

"On 27 March 1942, a new phase began for Alexandrina which would continue for 13 years and seven months until her death. She received no nourishment of any kind except the Holy Eucharist, at one point weighing as few as 33 kilos (approximately 73 pounds). "

Thanks!

Water,

I love your avatar 🙂

HOMILY OF JOHN PAUL II

St Peter’s Square
Third Sunday of Easter, 25 April 2004:
  1. “Do you love me?”, Jesus asks Simon Peter, who replies: “Yes Lord, you know that I love you”. The life of Blessed Alexandrina Maria da Costa can be summarized in this dialogue of love. Permeated and burning with this anxiety of love, she wished to deny nothing to her Saviour. With a strong will, she accepted everything to demonstrate her love for him. A “spouse of blood”, she relived mystically Christ’s passion and offered herself as a victim for sinners, receiving strength from the Eucharist: this became her only source of nourishment for the final 13 years of her life.
With the example of Blessed Alexandrina, expressed in the trilogy “suffer, love, make reparation”, Christians are able to discover the stimulus and motivation to make “noble” all that is painful and sad in life through the greatest evidence of love: sacrificing one’s life for the beloved.
Secret of holiness: love for Christ

Before this fast was approved, she faced so many humiliations from the hands of the doctors. I guess God allows all for His glory and yet a deeper sanctification of His chosen souls. What a mystery. I simply fell in love with Alexandrina’s soul as I read about her life.

Trustful.

When we truly love Christ, we will be able to love our neighbor easier.

If we look back, many saints had to suffer illness and humiliation. I thought St Fr. Pio had to deal with humility for his stigmata as well. So did St. Faustina, and many other saints.
