Aliens with souls?

Do you think there are any aliens with souls out there? I personally believe there are aliens out there, but i highly doubt that they have souls like us. Of curse im not saying that they cannot have souls, im just saying that i think its not logical for them to have souls, if simmiliar creatures exist. What do you think?

If aliens exist, they exist only because God created them. If God created them then they have a soul, although it might be different from ours.

I’m of 2 minds about whether they’re there or not. I look out at the universe and I think it’s impossible that we are the only inhabited planet in all that vastness. But then it seems equally impossible that there are any other beings.

I believe that if God wanted to create another animal to have a Soul, then that animal WILL have a Soul.
God does what God wants to do.

So, I can see NO reason to assume that God would automatically give this particular “Alien” animal species a Soul.

I believe the little grey ones have souls but I am not sure of the others. I am awaiting clarification from the National Geographic or discovery channels. They did a wonderful job with Aliens in the Vatican recently, so the soul question is bound to be answered soon.

Animals do indeed have a soul.

The Latin word that is translated “soul” in English is anima.. An “animal” is literally a being with a soul!

The human soul is a step up however – psyche, not anima. Therefore only human beings have a “psychology.”

The human psyche among other functions, unlike the animal soul or anima, generates the human conscious mind.

So if “aliens” existed (big if!) and had a conscious mind of the human class, we would be required to assume they had a psyche soul, as well.

I think everything GOD created has a spirit but I believe only humans that are made in the image and likeness of GOD has the soul and spirit, I don’t think that a playful little dog is just a bunch of tissue and hair that happens to be jumping around, or that has dreams or that has emotions has nothing. I think they have a spirit…are there not horses in Heaven? i.e. 4 horsemen of the apocalypse? maybe if there are others from distant worlds that is the reason they come to Earth, perhaps they are fascinated by the creatures who have the soul and spirit and image/likeness of GOD.

This is an interesting thread; one in which I was discussing with my father-in-law last night. I forgot where I heard this, but somewhere among the various podcasts I listen to, one of the speakers was talking about how we needn’t suppose that if aliens with rationality were to be discovered (or discovered us) they may not have fallen with Original sin such as we have. Just food for thought.

Just like the above mentioned said, if God created them, they most certainly do have a soul, but it is probably different than ours. We dont know their particular situation, and really it makes little difference to us, although it is very interesting.

I believe most of these aliens were created long before mankind and this would explain why they are so advanced…give us enough time, and we too will be traveling to other systems…given enough time, the entire human race may decide to relocate to another planet too!!

The vatican has even made statements along these lines, saying they would love to preach to an alien being…I kind of have a feeling, we are close to some kind of mass alien encounter…I think the Govt and vatican are preparing people for this. If you look around, there is quite a bit of talk about UFOs, aliens, etc in a serious light. Many world Govts are slowly releasing what they know about this topic (all except the US though LOL)

Christ did not incarnate for the sake of reason or philosophy.

Interesting question! When Christopher Columbus first discovered America and its simple, half-naked inhabitants and took stories about them back to Europe, there was a big debate in Europe about whether these uncivilized people were human and if they had souls.

But the difference with aliens if we discover them will be that they will very likely turn out to be more advanced than us - so they will probably be the ones wondering if we had souls.

Looks like they were wondering for thousands of years…
Now, am I missing something, because in England/Belgium for ex, records of alien encounters were made public, and there are for sure this events but nobody does anything because there is nothing you can do about them…they do not interfere with the officials for now, but only let themselves to be seen from time to time…and abduct people sometimes…

I think that a number of factors would be involved, but all other things being relatively equal, the alien race’s position in the universe could be very important. The older the section of the universe, the longer that race would have to develop.
Just to travel to our nearest neighboring star (4 light years distant) will require a leap in technology that will take many, many years.

I agree with your objection…the inverse is also likely.

The nearest earth like planet is a few light years away.If we want to discover aliens, I think they are more likely to come here rather than we go there to find them.

In that case, they are very likely more advanced than us (being able to travel so much further than us).

I agree that if they came here they would obviously be the more advanced species. But it’s a huge assumption to say they are more likely to come here with absolutely nothing to go on.

Well, lets say mankind makes it another 5000 years, what do you think that society would look like by then? Im sure by then we will be traveling all over the universe, just look at the major differences in the past 100 years!!!

If an alien civilization was created by God thousands or millions of years before adam and eve, then most definitely, they would have absolutely incredible technology within that time, thats just common knowledge, give a race enough time and they will increase their technology, this can be easily seen in our past. But it is hard to even think about 1000s of years.

Im sure there is also alien planets out there that were created after mankind too though, and they are most likely similar to our ancient civilizations, they will have to go thru the same things we all did, creating tools, fire, etc…point is though, give them enough time, they will increase their technology.
