Is all we know about Jesus contained in the Bible or are there other books and documents out there that contain additional information?

In addition to the Bible there are gospels, letters, acts etc. that did not make it into the Bible. BUT, they dind’ tmake it there for a reason, they may have been considered heretical:

There are plenty of other writings cataloging the life of Jesus including the writings of the Sanhedrin, historians and Roman writings. There are other accounts of the life of Christ by other disciples that are not considered divinely inspired. It has been said that there is more documentation concerning the life of Jesus then anyone before or since.
 
all we know about Jesus, and everything there is to know about Jesus (which we will never know this side of heaven) is contained in the Person of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Incarnate Word of God. The bible records the revelation of Gods’ Word throughout human history and the principal events of his life, passion death and resurrection. As the evangelist John tells us, there are not enough books in the world to begin to tell everything He said and did. The gospel accounts about Jesus were handed on orally for the first decades of the Church until their inspired writers transcribed them.

There are some other writngs that claim to contain the life of Jesus, especially His “hidden” years. However, the Council assembled at Carthage never deemed them worthy of being included in the canon, so they were left out. As said by the Council in canon XXIV: “(for) these (the books listed in the canon) are the things which we have received from our fathers to be read in church.” Thus, the Council has drawn the books to be included in the Bible.
 
I should have done a little better job of asking my question. I am asking about additional information from an exceptable Catholic teaching point of view. From what I have read here, the Bible is it when it comes to information on Jesus.

There are the writings of the Church Fathers (which are quite extensive) as well as the documents of the Church down through the centuries, such as papal encyclicals, etc. and approved private revelations to draw from as well as the writings of the Saints.

I think it is safe to say that St. John put the “meat and potatoes” of Jesus’ ministry and teachings in his gospel.

Also Sacred Tradition but that is not written anywhere.
