What we seek are not external things, but the feelings we believe we will get from them. Therefore, all happiness is internally driven.

Any comments?

True Joy can only be found in serving God, not ourselves or our own emotions, so true Happiness can only be found in the one who made us because otherwise nothing could satisfy, we were made to receive Gods Love, and if we do not then we will Never be complete, despite all efforts to fill that void
 
In a sense it is determined since it’s part of human nature God created. For Thomas Aquinas, happiness is the general good, and more importantly it is God who is happiness who can satisfy his aspirations.
