So when Perry got in, I didn’t know much about him. I had heard that he supported mandatory std vaccines for school children, which I am absolutely against, but I didn’t know much else.
Well, I found out all I need to know.
He endorsed Rudy Gulianni in the runnup to the 2008 election. You can’t back the MOST pro-abortion candidate in the field and credibly claim to be pro-life. At best it shows that Perry thinks abortion is wrong but thinks it is an extremely minor issue.
I’m sure my friend David Lamb might chime in here. While we disagree on many things, his criticisms of the GOP are appearing more and more on target. In an election where many things point to the GOP candidate having an excellent chance of winning because of the poor economy, the GOP STILL seems absolutely determined to nominate someone who isn’t pro-life.
I’m an enthusiastic Ron Paul backer. Obviously, if he gets the nomination, he’ll get my vote in November. But beyond Rep. Paul I’m having a hard time finding a Republican candidate not just that I’d like to vote for, but that I COULD vote for.
I don’t want to make this into a Ron Paul thread, I just wanted to be clear I wasn’t bashing Perry in order to boost Romney- who I also couldn’t vote for.
Pax and God Bless.
