Does an all male priesthood universally accepted in the Eastern Orthodox Church as a whole? Does she have authority to ordain women?

The Catholic Church teaches that the Church does not have the authority to ordain women. I like to know if they agree with the Catholic Magisterial authority on the issue of all male priesthood.

No, we don’t accept women in the priesthood. We don’t have authority to innovate on the traditional beliefs and practices of the Church.

God bless,

Adam

Yes (how can something be universally accepted NOT as a whole?)

<< Does she have authority to ordain women?>>

No, though there is discussion about the order of deaconesses.

One thing that some theologians, such as Met. Kallistos Ware, have brought up is that the Church has not ever really studied throroughly the issue of WHY no women priests. There must be a reason why they were not ordained. What was that reason?

Because God created men and women differently. We (women) simply weren’t created for the priesthood. The priesthood even from Old Testament times has been for men. It’s that simple.
Just like a man can never be a true mother nor give birth to a baby, a woman can never be a true father, a woman can never be a priest.
Who questions this kind of thing? Seems so wierd to even think about it! Who would ever venture to argue it?

God bless!

We should also not forget that the “Icon” of all christian women is the Theotokos and She also did not perform Liturgies or Synods even when She is the most holy human being !

There are many women Saints wich were enlightners of whole countries like St. Nina the equal to the Apostels of Georgia or St. Mary Magdalene the equal to the Apostels and also St. Thekla the disciple of ST. Paul but they never served Liturgies or wanted to become Priests !

In some churches were women are ordained as Priests, Pastors, Bishops they usually also allow gays and lesbians, often times married people to the Clergy ??? We should have nothing todo with such stupid stuff.

In CHRIST

Another resounding Orthodox NO on the question of ever ordaining women.

We don’t do girl altar servers, either.

That’s one of the many things I miss about Eastern Orthodoxy: You don’t change with the times! 👍
