I am Methodist & I voted for nonjudgemental conversation, although there were several answers that would have fit me…
I just get annoyed when people say things like, “oh, Methodists don’t believe in anything”. Well, they just lost me right there! We surely do believe, & I can’t help it, my back goes right up…That conversation is over all ready.
There is this stereotype of people some times, that is not productive for anybody…I have had a Baptist minister tell me that I am not baptized Christian because I was not immersed. I lost my temper & told him that I have got as wet as I ever am going to!! (I know, not the best answer…) Or someone will tell me what I believe! (As if didn’t know what is in my own head & heart!)
I feel that this is especially bad for when it happens between Christians. I mean, I know I am not going to agree with someone that is, say Buddhist or Hindu, but that is a different thing from Christians attacking each other. When we have the same Lord in common, that seems to me to be just plain wrong.
OK, that’s my :twocents: !!
