'All-out war': Fleeing Texas Dems side with Newsom as redistricting standoff continues: 'fire with fire'

OK...

Someone please explain this one to me. I am actually confused.

Texas is redrawing district lines within their own state borders. An act that I believe is purely a state matter and is the right of the state to do.

And California is claiming it will fight back?

How is it that California claims to have authority over what is an internal matter for the state of Texas?

If anyone can shed some light on this, I would be grateful.

First, this is a forum on religion, why are you posting a purely political question?
The answer is simple: 1. While gerrymandering in Texas might not directly affect how the state allocates its electoral votes, it can have an indirect impact, and through that it would affect a presidential election and people in other states.
2. The Governor of California is not attempting to act in Texas, but to respond in his state to counter fire with fire.
I will go no further in the analysis, because this is a forum on religion, not on politics.

From the system administrator in World News Forum:

I will defer to the expressed wishes of the moderators of this forum.
They have the authority here.

I am quite certain they do not need your assistance in the matter.

I was careful to include the opinion of the moderators regarding the forum, in fact their expressed wishes:

In giving you a short and as objective as possible explanation for the political question, it was my intend to respect their wishes as well as solving your confusion without affecting sensitivities.
