Hello, all!
As you know, All Saints Day is tomorrow, a Saturday. Would anyone happen to know whether it is a Holy Day of Obligation, or has it been abrogated?

It depends where you live. In the United States, when All Saints falls on a Saturday or a Monday, the obligation to attend Mass is abrogated. Of course, you still can go if you wish. 🙂

If you live outside the U.S., you’d have to check with your local bishops’ conference. Earlier, a poster from Ireland was inquiring about it and another poster was able to determine that the obligation remained for those in Ireland, even though it is on a Saturday.

I live in the United States, so I would assume it is abrogated, then.

We had an All Saints Day vigil last night and there is a 9 am Mass this morning. The vigil at 5 pm today is to fulfill the Sunday obligation. In our diocese, the Holy Day of Obligation has not been given dispensation.

The dispensation has already been given by the USCCB via the statement Vico posted a link to, which was approved by the bishops in 1992. When All Saints, Assumption, and Mary, mother of God fall on a Monday or Saturday, the obligation to attend Mass is dispensed with automatically. The local bishop does not need to give an additional, individual dispensation at that time. It is already in place.
