All seeing eye of God vs Illuminatie Eye

I ran across someone saying that the illuminati symbol (eye of Horus) was all over the Church - specifically the chariot/carriage of the Pope - and used this to claim the Church is pagan. upon some research I came across those who said it as actually the symbol for ‘all seeing eye of God’ but how do you explain the difference to someone when the symbols look so much alike? I know the Church isn’t pagan but I honestly feel unsettled by the similarities of these symbols.

The Catholic Church may have inherited a bit of paganism through conversions. Saint Patrick used the 3-leaf clover to explain the Holy Trinity. This Egyptian stuff is contrary to our usage, but we do regard God as seeing all things. Think of it like this, how holy were the Desert Fathers to have been untouched by foreign spirituality in their life on Earth. It is an amazing phenomenon supporting Christianity’s power in Egypt.

Not quite.

Clovers have 4 leaves.

Shamrocks - the plant of St Patrick, has 3 leaves.

Where is the paganism link here?

The charges are bunko made by people who don’t understand history, art, culture, etc. The Eye of Providence is a very old symbol that predates this Illuminati/Masonic claptrap. It’s just popular as as a meme these days. It’s a boogieman. The Eye of Providence was more a Protestant thing. And the triangle is an ancient symbol for the Trinity.

Images being similar doesn’t mean they have any real connection. Eyes are symbols across the globe used in art and depictions that predate even Judaism. They’re just caught up in tinfoil hat conspiracies.

The pagans in the UK were considered indigenous. Vikings settled there from Scandinavia spreading from North to South. Germanic settlers from Scandinavia spread to England by way of Normandy, France in/around 1066 AD.
 
vikings were not indigenous as far as a peoples go. They were the first melting pot. However, vikings were not the only occupants of Ireland

we, in Irish Catholic enclaves, are always telling people it was a shamrock, not a 4 leaf clover.

Yes, Vikings were indeed a melting pot. The Irish came from the Scots as far as the UK goes and Britain was sacked heavily by the Normans.

I’ve been referring to the “3-leaf clover” as not being a Shamrock, keeping it’s most basic name as a clover. Whether that is right or wrong I don’t know, and I appreciate the sharing of information.

Sadly, I learned of Viking raiders having destroyed some monasteries. That is a sad fate, but it is good that religious faith prevailed. What is sad also are the music forms by some in Scandinavia in modern times, some are intended to bring glory to evil.

The Catholic Church uses many symbols, eg a cross ,to some ,even a cross may looks like pagan,but that doesn’t mean the Catholic Church is evil or pagan,don’t bother of such false claimes,move on with it!

The symbols do look very much alike. In fact they could look the same. The thing with symbols is that they are used to represent something. This is the intent of the symbol maker. The same symbol can be used for different representations.

The Catholic use of an all seeing eye represents God and the Trinity. Everyone should know what the Catholic Church teaches. She puts out lots of documents and even an extensive catechism.

The Illuminati and Freemasons use the eye to represent divinity too, but this is the Masonic concept which rejects the Trinity. Both groups stand in opposition to the Catholic Church. So there is no way the symbols can have the same meaning.

Just using pagan things doesn’t make someone or an institution pagan. Pagans used chairs. That doesn’t mean anyone who uses a chair is a pagan. If paganism means polytheism then it is abundantly clear the Catholic Church teaches there is only one God. So She isn’t pagan.
