I think chemistry is everything!!!

Sure you can have a checklist but when you find the right person that checklist can go out the window. As long as once your in a relationship there is respect. honetsy, love etc then thats all that matters.

Here’s a question thats more hard to answer. Why do you think we are attracted to some people and not to others?? Are there lessons to learn from those we are attracted to perhaps??
Quoted for truth.

As to the answer to your question, I’d say “yes”. Typically, the girls I’ve been attracted to the most have been the ones to give me the most trouble. I’m glad I’ve been able to learn from those relationships, certainly.

This is going wild! 🙂
Aurora: I don’t understand your last post.
Lost Wander: I believe he knows most of us are teasing him even though we were surprised with some of his green flags. You should look up for Anastaci Shpagina and her friend. You might want to stalk them…I’m just kidding!
Exoflare: I’m dying of laughter because of you!
Crescientius: I’ll pm you.🙂
Tuskaie: I agree chemistry is important but knowing what you want in a relationship and what you can bring to it is also important. I’ve learned from my mistakes or at least I’m trying to.
Manic Faze: Relax! Everybody is beeing judgmental on forums even you when you.
To everybody we’re supposed to have fun here! So take a deep breath and enjoy life!

Lol, in short it means its gettin’ frisky in here! 😉

In defense of Lost Wanderer he is into anime, so I’m going to assume he is also into the whole Asian culture which has always been about subservient females. It’s also predominate in the Hispanic culture as well, just by always keeping the women barefoot and pregnant, which is more detesting to me than just wanting a woman from the era of the 1950’s.
I’ll admit so far as my desire of subservience could stem from my both Asian and Hispanic ancestral roots. Hardly the type to coop up a pregnant lady like a human incubator.

Besides, if she’s anything like Gemma Galgani she’d probably coop herself up without my help… heck I’d probably get pressured to stop that given that my friends never took kindly to that sort of behavior. >_>
The ones on here who are hating on the feminist women are more concerning to me. I’m not saying what the Lost Wanderer wants is not the same thing; he was just more specific and honest about the certain attributes that he looks for rather than using some broad word like feminist.
I’ll add that I don’t impose my standards on all the women of the world. Such a thought repulses me in fact! One thing I’d love about meeting a girl like that is that someone who would stand out in this century. Someone so unique is one more reason why I would cherish such a woman. I don’t want to live in a world where girls are just one cardboard cut out of a personality (or worse, just trying to copy the true and blue).

I appreciate all kinds of women. It just so happens that I appreciate a headstrong, feminist type as a leader, not a lover. 😉
And if you’re wondering I am a feminist female who should have issues with his list but don’t because he has a right to be happy with the one he spends the rest of his life with as long as he respects her as human and never cause any harm to her.
Indeed. You know what people are ignoring about the ingenue here? It’s the way they bring out the guardian in you. I mean look at children. I’m sure many of you wouldn’t hesitate to protect a child. A girl just as endearing is hardly any different.

I mean I may represent myself in fantasy as one of the wizardy types but a girl like that will be surprised at how my dedication rivals the noblest knight.

So can we stop picking on what one person looks for, because there are some others on here who list of pro & cons are just as unique.

SO STOPPING BEING SO JUDGMENTAL!!!

Thank you……
(Steps down from soapbox)
😛
I am sorry if I hurt your feelings but the truth is that this world’s version of Feminism is to make “men” out of “women” and “women” out of “men”, which is destroying the femininity out of this world.

God bless,
D.

Lol, no hurt feeling if my feeling where hurt so easily I would not be posting anything in the world of webs.😉
I was annoyed that one person was getting ragged on for posting something that was so truthful and really not offensive in regards to what he would like to have in his soul mate as it where, because I’m sure if he found that women he would feel as though G-d had answered his prayer.

We all want different things from the ones we hope to find love with till our last waking breath. I want nothing more than to find a man who will not past judgment on me for my past life more than anything and who understands that I’m sometimes too raw and honest which a huge turn off is for most men. I accept what I love most about myself is the thing that other dislike the most. 🤷

Peace, Love & Blessings,
M

Really you think all feminist are lesbian wana be’s? lol:p
I’m far from that I enjoy taking care of my man more than most of the uber uppity high maintenance females I know, as I can cook like Martha, keep a house so clean that someone with germ issues feel like they could eat off the floor because its so clean, know how to sew, and if G-d where to bless me with a baby would be one heck of a Mom than most of them. Just because I’m a little more open minded than some on the board does not mean I go around looking more butch than some of the metosexual males I know. But in your defense I do own a pair of doc martins I like to pair with my long skirts in the winter time…. All this time I thought I was being practical and smart, but I’m just a lesbian in training 🤷

🍿
You decided to put words in my mouth. A wrong move on your part.
There IS an obvious non-ideological difference between a radical feminist and a lesbian feminist. The non-ideological difference is that lesbian feminists are mostly lesbians whereas radical feminists tend to have a more diverse demographic.
The fact that I had to put a word before the word “feminist” means that there are various types of feminism.

Yeah, we heard you the first time. What’s wrong, feeling left out? Maybe just a wee bit jealous that Lost Wanderer is getting the attention?😛

I’m kidding.🙂
I’m jelly about it. 😛

In all seriousness, my suggestion is ignored to the point of sheer recklessness. Hence, people jumping sharks at Lost Wanderer’s list.

For the men:

Green lights:
  • Devout Catholic ( > Mainline Protestant or Orthodox > Non-proselytizing other Christian)
  • Spiritual lifestyle (prayerful, mindful, contemplative, aesthetic awareness, attention to health and fitness, etc)
  • Humble. (Can take pride in work, relationships, accomplishments, appearance but not boastful or vain!)
  • Generous and grateful.
  • Loyal, faithful, trusting, and trustworthy.
  • Good citizen. Votes. Volunteers. Supports local business, schools, community life.
  • Intellectual and stimulating.
  • Deep listener. Tuned into other’s needs. Has own educated opinions, but entertains multiple viewpoints and seeks to grow.
  • Courteous and respectful in all relationships.
  • Diplomatic, tactful, polite.
  • Clean, tidy, hygenic, organized.
  • Self reliant…as in “still able to wash own laundry, fix own sandwich, open own beer”
  • Fiscally responsible (neither an excessive spender or penny-pincher)
  • Conversant and communicative.
  • Physically attractive. (I don’t care much about height, or coloration, or fashion style, or weight, but must try to present well!)
  • Intimate. (Physically, emotionally, spiritually, intellectually.)
Bonuses: Musical. Language-lover. Artistic. Foodie. Traveler. Technically-saavy. Mechancially-handy. Outdoor adventurer.

Red flags:
  • Anti-Catholic, anti-religious or apathetic.
  • Arrogance. Egoism. Hubris.
  • Anti-feminist. Fixation with idealized or traditional gender roles.
  • Anti-intellectual.
  • Anti-musical.
  • Minimalist. (Freaks out at the stuff I have, mostly books and instruments. I keep it clean, organized, useable, and out-of-the-way if you’ll let me be 🙂
  • Slobby living.
  • Slovenly appearance.
  • Macho.
  • Drunkard OR teetoller.
  • Disrespectful or demanding.
  • Greedy.
  • Suspicious.
  • Vengeful.
  • Fiscally irresponsible.
  • Intolerant of diverse perspectives, argument for sport, or disagreement of conscience.
  • Self-proclaimed “orthodox” or “political conservative”. (I’ll give it a shot, but we will passionately disagree.)
  • Not supportive, communicative, or intimate.
  • Not open to children in this marriage.
  • Children from prior marriages or relationships. Toxic ex’s.
  • Criminal record.
  • Setting out to change me.

I had a list of traits for my ideal girl, but I think Ithrew it out the window when I met my wife. She didn’t fit the criteria, but I wouldn’t give her up for the world.

Btw, Lost Wamderer, looks like you’re looking for a mix of Maria Clara, Molly Mormon, and Yamato Nadeshika.

This thread is interesting.

I’m just suprised that some people think that obedience makes one a second class citizen, when it is an act of love because of its self-giving nature. Isn’t the religious notion of obedience making the will of the beloved one with the lover?

Even the bride of Christ is called to be obedient to the Bridegroom, isn’t she?

Okay, I’m married here but I noticed this and wanted to interject on behalf of LostWanderer. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with wanting an obedient wife…in fact, women are admonished to be obedient to their husbands. Nothing wrong with that.

Back to your regular programming.
I think that it would help you if you were to go back to the original languages. The wife has to submit as in to support the husband in doing is Christ-like duty toward her. Using “obedience” for translation purposes is not wrong but it is often taken out of context by contemporary readers.

If obedience is an act of love, what does it say about the husband who demands obedience?

Yes, Blessed JPII put it nicely and in context. It is the obedience of the Church to Christ. For husbands and wives, it is about mutual submission.

Maria Clara?

googling

She seems to be the embodiment of the chivalric idea of femininity. She seems to be more like the Victorian European ideal rather than the Asian subservient female. A gently born female who is coddled and protected, one of the upper classes.

I will have to look up Molly Mormon and Yamato Nadeshika.

I don’t think he’d be getting all this flak if it were just “obedience” on its own. It was, however, the combination of that with the 3 other words I highlighted earlier that started raising some eyebrows.

I have no problem with obedience either. I also have no problems with naive.

But gullible?

Maybe innocent might be a better word. It fits better with the whole ingenue theme.

I remember a bible passage. “Be innocent as doves but as shrewd as serpents.” Matthew 10:16

Your green flags makes me wonder… : ) It’s a little bit scary to be honest 🙂
True. It does go beyond wanting someone who can follow another (without being a zombiefied follower). In fact, it’s worse than just writing “submissive” instead, although perhaps the adjectives weren’t too well chosen.

On the other hand, nothing wrong appreciating an innocent type who is not corrupted by the modern world into cynicism, not world-weary beyond years lived on this planet, not looking out for no. 1, not posing to be more of an “adult” than one really is. One of the portraits, that bright-haired girl, can offer some visual illustration through her face expression. Basically, open, trusting, uncorrupted.

But stay away from master-house maid associations. I am honestly sensing that in how you speak about those things, even with a fair share of benefit of the doubt.
Mine is even weirder. 🙂
Don’t complain if you stay single then.

With the family under assault and divorce more prevalent it’s hard to grow from childhood to adulthood open, trusting and uncorrupted. Imagine being a young girl living with her mother and her never ending parade of boyfriends. Add to that a culture who pressures children to have sex as early as possible. Face it, innocence and purity are on the endangered list in this society.
