Having no soul or mind is a far greater problem for anyone who understands that the body is incapable of understanding anything! How do you solve that paradox (self-contradiction)?
Well that’s your explanation. However, it is not standard. The soul is immaterial but located in the body until death. That’s the standard explanation. Ideas are immaterial, yet they come from the body and the mind. Immaterial things have a location. What makes you think immaterial things do not come from something or reside in something? Most of our sense of self is immaterial such as our memories, our emotions, our thoughts, our fears, our feeling of love and hate. Otherwise we are just a bunch of water and a few elements.
