This proves to me that even though I deeply love Catholicism, Muslims can be nicer and more understanding.
**AGabriel has written a lot of abuse about God even calling him a deceiver. Could he himself be decieved in his beliefs. I feel so. Anyhow, I had requested the christians (and AGabriel is a christian, not Catholic) not to delve into hadith. But AGabriel has come back with Tirmizi. We do not give too much importance to tirmizi and qirmizi. We work with Quran which, according to our belief, is the last testament with the mankind in original.

The christians may not believe that at all. We do not mind. We do not abuse their God and we do not abuse Jesus. Let the Christians become Catholics and come closer to some respectable persons for good discussion.

We invite them to the Quran. And not to start any discussion on the basis of Hadith. Hadith could be as bad as the bibleNT. I did not want to say that. But the christians are constantly bringing up Hadith to malign our prophet and our religion. So I had to remind them about the status of the bible being well below that of our Hadith. Both hadith and bible are man made books**.

It is in your own Quran that Muhammad deceived others:

Qur’an 9:3 “Allah and His Messenger dissolve obligations.”

Qur’an 33:11 “In that situation the Believers were sorely tried and shaken as by a tremendous shaking. And behold! The Hypocrites and those in whose hearts is a disease said: 'Allah and His Messenger promised us nothing but delusion; they have promised only to deceive us.”

Qur’an 8:30 “Remember how the unbelievers plotted against you (Muhammad). They plotted, and Allah too had arranged a plot; but Allah is the best schemer.”

There are more in the hadiths, I will only use Bukhari.

Bukhari:V4B53N453 “When the Prophet wanted to perform the Umrah, the Quraysh stipulated that he could not preach (Islam). So Ali started writing a treaty. ‘This is what Muhammad, Apostle of Allah, has agreed to.’ The (Meccans) said, 'If we believed that you were the Apostle of Allah we would have followed you. So write, ‘This is what Muhammad bin Abdallah has agreed to.’ The Apostle could not write, so he asked Ali to erase the expression: ‘Apostle of Allah.’ On that Ali said, ‘I will never erase it.’ Muhammad said, ‘Let me see the paper.’ The Prophet erased the expression with his own hand.”

Bukhari:V5B59N369 “Allah’s Apostle said, ‘Who is willing to kill Ka’b bin Ashraf who has hurt Allah and His Apostle?’ Thereupon Muhammad bin Maslamah got up saying, ‘O Allah’s Apostle! Would you like me to kill him?’ The Prophet said, ‘Yes,’ Maslamah said, ‘Then allow me to say false things in order to deceive him.’ The Prophet said, ‘You may say such things.’”

Bukhari:V4B52N268 “Allah’s Apostle said, ‘War is deceit.’”

this last one is interesting since our lands are divided into dar al harb (our infidels are considered the lands of war) and dar al islam. So, in our infidel lands they are in a ‘state of war’ and deceit is allowed by them.

There are many more verses about deceit in Islam.

The hadiths are indeed valid. Muslims base their sharia laws on the Quran, hadiths and sunnah. So, now it isn’t valid when these translations, especially Bukhari, are indeed valid. So is Timrizi. These are two of the 6 accepted translations.

And there is too much consistency between all of these people saying that Muhammad did indeed lie to discount them off hand.

The Quran is also a man made book. It is so inconsistent, poorly written, chock full of errors, and jumbled that to say that a God wrote it, or had any part of it would be embarassing to admit that one believed in that god.

I admire your patience, but do you realize youre only wasting your time. Planten knows very well about the deception in the Koran yet he chooses to ignores them and decides to keep attacking the Bible. He will ignore your post and in another thread make lies about the Bible pretending he didnt hear any evidence given to them. This is why I reported him and advice others to do the same.

If hes not here to learn about different faiths and just likes to degrade other peoples faith (Christianity) then I personally dont believe he deserves to be here. No offense Planten.

Ok, I will stop. I think that leaving planten here is good for others to see how Muslims really are. And to show us how the ‘conversations’ with Muslims usually progress. How they end up with excuses, deflections, tu quoque, bashing, etc.

On one hand planten sounds really nice, but on the other hand his true self eventually shows through. I am on another thread where another Muslim is excusing and ignoring Muhammad’s bad deeds and now bashing even one of their own - Aisha, ‘Are Muslims okay with Muhammed actions?’

She (probably) lied to Muhammad about stupid stuff while Muhammad made lies about treaties with others, or telling his followers to lie about their intentions, etc.

Oh and keep in mind that Planten most certainly read what you wrote here but on the other thread “Are Muslims okay with Mohammed actions” he again bashed the Bible and said its a man-made book. This tells me he completely ignored your post. He also told us the status of the Holy Bible is below the Hadiths but in the same time told us not to use the Hadith against Mohammed but the Koran only:confused:

Planten, youre silly inention on these boards havent gone unnoticed, and I hope you get a warning from the moderators. Not because I hate you or anything, I do respect you for being a Muslim but your post have gone way to far. Youre starting to act like parrasuray who I havent heard for a while, I wonder why.

There is no difference other than the fact that the Holy Catholic Church worships the Christ unlike Muslims and Jews.
This difference is serious and grave enough to grant that allah is not the same god. Jesus Christ is the Son of the One True Living God.

MOnkey, There is only One God whoever He is.
I have nothing against your god, but inter-religious dialogue needs to be grounded on the fact that they are not the same. You mentioned that our understanding of God is different, see that’s making good progress towards truth, but if we presume they are the same, we’ll be lying and deceiving one another. That’s not a relationship based on truth and charity.

How do you reconcile your view on this issue with the CCC, M0nkey? It says:

841 The Church’s relationship with the Muslims. “The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day.”

It would seem to me that the most appropriate way to address the Muslims in light of Catholic teaching as shown above is to say that we DO in fact worship the same God, but that the Muslims do so incorrectly, with critically incomplete (and indeed false) knowledge as to who and what God is.

Am I wrong? Is the CCC wrong?

In the name of Allah , Most Gracious, Most Merciful

(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)
The muslim god allah has no partners, remember.
So , Jesus (pbuh) is partner of God in Christianity ? I was told by several Christians that Jesus (pbuh) is not partner or other deity but same as God ?

I don’t know how M0nkey resolves it, but I resolve it in that it is not a sin to know more about Islam than our Church who find it mostly ‘easier’ to let this misconception keep on going. (source: ‘Answering Islam’, Chapter 1) And I will not worship false gods according to the 10 Commandments.

Well, that teaching is not infallible, in fact, it’s speculation at best. I think relationships need to be tied in directly with the truth, while proclaiming to our Muslim brothers in love that allah is not Jesus or in any way related. The question I have for you is this, how can we worship the same god, when there is ‘critically incomplete (and indeed false) knowledge’? If I say, I worship this tree as the one true god, does that mean we worship the same god? See, that assertion is really a contradiction and it fails logic. We may speculate all we want, but the truth still remains.

Yea, I totally agree, I take it they added that in the CCC just to sound PC. Goes to show what happens when you sacrifice truth for unity. I pray bishops see the light in this, so they may continue dialogue in truth and in charity.

I read it differently and conclude it reflects the unknowable determination of anyones soul in deference to Gods mercy; acknowledges the reality there are as many Moslems as Catholics and 1300 years of interaction to place first among many; by lack of direct mention it gives zero legitimacy to Mohammed and the Quran which is Islams profession of faith; agrees on only what is not disputed as a means to bridge a gap to peace.

There is only one God of course but to say the god of the Quran is the same as the God of Abraham is not a true statement. They contradict each other often. To say we worship the same God is misleading without qualification. You seem to qualify it as ‘critically incomplete’ and I think false fits better. It’s the same God by default more than it is by design.

Consider this too - I wrote this on a different thread. Jesus would not have let such a glaring misconception of God/Himself be spread if Allah were indeed the same God.

It is so glaringly in error that it totally contradicts the Bible of which no Muslim has proven that it is false and even in their Quran it says that it is ‘The Truth in the Lord’, and that they should read it. I have figured out that maybe a few Muslims have read it and spread to others which verses they can pick out to try to disprove the Bible or to show it as an excuse as to why they do what they do. But, it doesn’t prove that the Bible is in error and it does show us that Muslims do not even follow their own Quran.

consider yourself reported.
Thank you Ben for informing me. If you have reported me then you should consider yourself defeated. You should, in that case, not go preaching or evangelising on any forum because you have run out of any rational arguments.

lol, that was a silly remark:p People over here proved to you that the Bible has never been corupted yet you call it a man-made book, and Im the one defeated:confused: Well it really dosent matter, you better change your act up or else you will be finding yourself in another forum. I hope not but thats how its going to end up.:o

**Ben (or Ban), threats, more threats, multiple threats. Is that all you have? I won’t need to go to any other forum because they will not be better than the Catholics forum.
. I have learnt more about the misbehaviour of the non-catholics here and I have learnt all about their beliefs.

I had the belief that bible was from God. But the christians here are telling me “No.” Jesus did not have any book. He did not give any book. So wherefrom came bibleNT? It must have come from the minds of men who described the short time (3 years only) life history of Jesus. Do you deny that?

I do not blame Jesus or his teachings. But I definitely blame you for your preaching and harsh attitude. It appears that you have no patience (heart) to listen to any criticism.**

Planten…
Jesus did not write Scripture. But His Holy Spirit of Truth inspired it.
So we dont see the ink and paper as divine, but we see Christ as divine. The book is not divine but God is divine. We translate it with joy to all mankind so that the MESSAGE will be shared.
The genre therefore is different than that of the Quran. The New Testament is a inspired and historical document. The Koran’s self-understanding is more high, but it does not mean that its more true. The truth is not defined by genre.

Also the Koran was written and arranged by men. Its not a secret.
The question is, who inspired it? You say Allah. I say the spirit who inspired the Koran is someone else than the One True God worshipped by Christians and Jews.

I hope you stick around because I think its time we get to the bottom of this… Everything we talk about is based on the validity or non-valitidy of the Scriptures we believe and dont believe…
So let’s make a new thread where I and others will show you that the assumption that Muhammad passed on to you; that the previous Scriptures were corrupted, is not only false but also against all historical scientific knowlege.

Will you take the challenge Planten?
