Is the beginning post not official catholic doctrine? It was interesting as someone actually came up with some facts, but then someone mentioned that is was opinion.
Hard topic to discuss as it is so personal, but silence and misinformation can be the devils foothold.
Song of Solomon has nothing to do with oral sex,not that it is wrong but is foreign to the text and based on a modern perspective, we are trying to make the bible into the Kama Sutra by doing this.
The language od Song of Solomon is based on the Law of Moses. Deuteronomy is the terms of the covenant and blessings are promised for obedience with agricultural abundance and ferility and unbarren wombs. Disobediance is cursed by the language of desolation, death, deportation, destruction and barren wombs…even to the point of mothers eating their babies in anguish. This language is weaved thru the tapestry of the bible.
Song of Solomon is written to acknowledge the joy and blessing of sexuality in marriage written in a backdrop of agricultural abundance and fertility…not the couples fertility, as this is not mentioned.
It is a parody of a secular view on sexuality…modern society promotes romance before marriage, the song of solomon promotes romance in marriage, when the time is right for love
So to allegorize fruit as being a penis is outside the language of the SOS

Here’s my understanding…

All things are allowable (except anal sex I guess), but at the end the man must ejaculate inside the woman.

Therefore, a woman can give a man oral sex for an hour as long as he finishes inside her.

A man can give a woman oral sex and he may give her an orgasm this way, but at some point the man must ejaculate inside the woman. In other words, the man cannot simply give the woman an orgasm and then end everything. However, it is also the man’s responsibility to give the woman an orgasm so if she cannot orgasm through intercourse then he can finish the job other ways.

That’s all there is to it. It’s actually quite easy to grasp. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s what I have gathered in my reading.

Thank you
So many opinions out there it can be confusing for a young couple. We don’t want to have rules on our bedpost and just want to have fun, but don’t want to disgrace the marriage bed either as God is watching.
The way I am seeing it, is the huband regardless of the married couples fertility, infertility, pregnancy or if they make love many times in a row…the husband can only experience his release with his wife in the place God created this to take place(vaginally).no withdrawing,no physical contraception to prevent conception. No exeptions right? If someone says something different, they would be wrong?
-the intent should be to do this, an inexperienced couple can slip up and they can laugh it off, right?
-i don’t know much about married stuff, but why would the wifes “pleasure” have any thing to do with being open to life or tied in with the husbands part?

It’s interesting to me that the standard dictionary defines sodomy as both oral and anal intercourse. I don’t understand how the world gets it and Catholics don’t. How can putting the genitals into ones MOUTH be godly, sanctifying marriage act!!! Just logically speaking … it is carnal and animalistic and PAGAN to do such things.

See now I get another opinion, one says this and another says that:shrug: this is unreasl

sorry, I did mean to be rude to anybodies reply, but the differences and contradictions are very apparent

So I guess we should base theology on the dictionary? Honestly, there isn’t anything truly in the Bible that says anything negative about oral sex, manual sex, or anal sex (at least not that I’ve ever seen). The Bible teaches against homosexuality, but anal sex between two married people is far from homosexual. The Church teaches the anal sex is wrong in all forms so that’s fine. However, I’ve never seen anything anywhere saying that oral sex for use in foreplay is sinful in nature. If you can find someone prominent in the Church saying otherwise please let us know, but I don’t think such a thing exists.

The original posts have quotes by Jason Evert where he is talking about that. He says that although it is not condemned by the Church, it can still tear a marriage if it causes the spouses to see each other as objects instead of spouses.

Eh, he doesn’t give any facts to backup this statement. At least not from that small snippet. I think there are much worse sexual sins that would breakup or weaken a marriage. I can see it being an issue if one of the two people doesn’t like to do it but the other consistently pressures the other into doing it. However, if both people enjoy doing that to each other, there should be no issue.

All of the other quotes after that seem to say that it’s OK to do as foreplay or to finish the woman off if she can’t climax from intercourse. It’s quite clear that the Church is OK with it. So, the question of the thread is answered.

I guess this is a subject to bring up before getting married, as one person might be offended and the other person feel like they are missing out on something.
