Is the beginning post not official catholic doctrine? It was interesting as someone actually came up with some facts, but then someone mentioned that is was opinion.
Hard topic to discuss as it is so personal, but silence and misinformation can be the devils foothold.
Song of Solomon has nothing to do with oral sex,not that it is wrong but is foreign to the text and based on a modern perspective, we are trying to make the bible into the Kama Sutra by doing this.
The language od Song of Solomon is based on the Law of Moses. Deuteronomy is the terms of the covenant and blessings are promised for obedience with agricultural abundance and ferility and unbarren wombs. Disobediance is cursed by the language of desolation, death, deportation, destruction and barren wombs…even to the point of mothers eating their babies in anguish. This language is weaved thru the tapestry of the bible.
Song of Solomon is written to acknowledge the joy and blessing of sexuality in marriage written in a backdrop of agricultural abundance and fertility…not the couples fertility, as this is not mentioned.
It is a parody of a secular view on sexuality…modern society promotes romance before marriage, the song of solomon promotes romance in marriage, when the time is right for love
So to allegorize fruit as being a penis is outside the language of the SOS
