Allowing someone to kill you for moral reason

This reminds me of the concentration camps where a priest offered himself in place of a man who had a family (can’t remember the specifics)?

I was always taught that if you die for someone else…you pretty much go straight to heaven.

The teaching was wrong. While it may be likely…your own state of your soul determines your fate. While I do believe personally that someone who dies for another is probably not Hell bound, that soul may very well (or may not) have a stay in Purgatory. Like any other soul, it’s not for us to judge.

Let us hope that the action merits the soul eternal rewards

if the terrorists has the means to kill thousands, then why don’t they just target the person they want dead as part of the thousands? How do you know they are not lying? And, if they are not lying, what proves they will keep their word and not kill thousands anyways? And, why can’t you just fake the death of the person they want dead?

Yes it would be morally acceptable, and it would actually be a very noble sacrifice.

EDIT: Oops! I misread your question. It would still be immoral for the person to kill the innocent victim regardless of whether or not that victim had allowed it to happen or not. It would still be murder.
