In Japan a man has collected 1000 signatures to petition the government to allow marriage between humans and cartoon characters.

Of course, I’m not trying to insinuate that “same-sex marriage” is as stupid as this – because in fact, it’s far more stupid. Consider: Who’s the bigger fool, the man who thinks two imaginary apples added to two real ones make four real apples, or the man who thinks two real apples and two further real ones make five apples? I’d say the latter – the former may be delusional, but at least he can add.

But how exactly would one determine consent? Dibs on Wonder Woman, by the way, by how would I know if she’s been gasp Cheating on me?!?! By being the leading lady in some very, very, **VERY **sick fellow’s fantasies?

No offense to the Japanese, or other Island dwellers, but I think there’s too many on too small an island.

As the average student, I can’t help but feel slightly vidicated that the Japanese youth, who so often are depicted as my intellectual superiors (and that’t not a hard title to claim) have such a hard time finding 3D living, breathing, partners.

But in all seriousness, somebody get these kids to a shrink. If they’re expecting not just Prince Charming, not a knight in shining armor, but SUPERMAN!!! Well, that’s setting your standards just way too high.

One only has to have a look at the extremely well-drawn anime and manga babes in order to understand the motivation for this petition. 😃

If there’s any time God would make this world turn anime… now would be a good time! This is both embarrassing yet at the same time I probably know how the guy feels… my heart aches at this. I don’t know why but I’m more attracted to anime girls too… (heck it’s one reason why porn makes me puke) T_T

Lenalee, or Sister Iris from Gyakuten Saiban 3?

There are a few anime guys I wouldn’t mind marrying (Kuchiki Byakuya after he got over his Honor Before Reason issues, Mori, Shizuka Doumeki… I like tall, dark, sensible, and stoic), but they’re just good ways for me to know what to look for in a real husband. Actually wanting to marry Ayanami Rei (and it’s probably Rei, it’s always Rei with otaku in my experience, even though she’s a robot clone thing) is just creepy.

Oh, I wait, I just looked it up and it’s actually quite worse. The girl’s actually six years younger than me! AARRRGGGHHH!!! THE SHAME!!! :banghead::banghead::banghead:

(If you guys really wanna know though, just ask me one more time. Be warned. You will be creeped out. I am seriously not proud of this! Oh why couldn’t she at least be older!?:crying:)

With your embarrassment, I’m genuinely curious as to who the jailbait nun is now. As long as it’s not Prier from La Pucelle, I’m not going to be at all horrified about it. If we’re going to admit embarrassing crushes in public, I think that Haruhi is the cutest boy in the Host Club. Despite her being, you know. A girl.

Wow! That is like the ultimate action of Japanese Anime Nerdyness! I’m an anime nerd, but not so much as to even think up that idea.
 
Okay, laying claim to Kozo Fuyutske (sp?) in Neon Genesis Evangelion, even if he is old enough to be my father. I can help him get over Yui Ikari and maaaaaybe thus save him from succumbing to Third Impact. I might like Shinji enough to want to hug him and offer him some hot chocolate every time he gets emotionally frazzled, but the kid’s only fifteen years old.

I’ve also got a crush on L from Death Note, but I suspect he’s asexual, plus he also appears to have Asperger’s Syndrome, and since I’ve got that condition, it would never work: we’d be too much alike.
 
I wonder…consent…could an artist consent for his drawings?

Maybe it’s just better to scrap the entire notion of a secular marriage if it’s going to include people actually living alone…

I guess that if there’s one good thing about falling in love with a fictional character, it is that. Although I am a boy, so I’d have to say that there are a few anime girls I wouldn’t mind marrying. - Once they converted of coure. (Strictly Catholic)
